Level 977 is the 978th Level of the Backrooms.
The first area
Level 977 is a level characterized by its vast forested wilderness and a deep crimson fog which bathes the entire level in a blood red mist. From this mist, entities known as Striders will emerge and hunt down any beings that make a sound, tracking them down through the red haze using the 6 senses their hammerheads are able to detect.

Description
The third area
Level 977 consists of six areas featuring vast expanses of forest, wilderness, rural roads, and moorland, all covered in a thick crimson fog. No houses have been seen on this level, but the occasional barn or shack can be spotted. Each area extends for about 3 miles but this can change due to the unstable nature of the level.
1st Area
The first area of the level starts on top of a large hill, with a muddy dirt road that leads all the way down to the foot of the hill visible to any Wanderer that spawns here. Attempts to leave the road or walk in a different direction are met with failure, as wanderers experience a mental compulsion that prevents travelling in anything other direction aside from a straight line.
2nd Area
The second area is a ploughed field at the end of the dirt road which one must climb over a rusted gate to access. This area is sparsely populated by Smilers that, instead of being shrouded in blackness, blend into the red fog around them. Normal precautions for smilers should be taken here.
3rd Area
Continuing on leads to another low fence which seperates the second and third area, and can easily be climbed over as it is only 3 feet high. On the other side of this fence a dirt track with trees on either side can be found. Death Rats can be found scurrying across this road as they sprint from one forest to the next, though Wanderers will again be unable to chase after them into the forest or leave the dirt track once they have started walking on it.
4th Area
Eventually, this dirt track will disappear after leading you into a dense pine tree forest where you can finally move freely, though you will be unable to turn back and find the way from which you came once inside this forest. In this fourth area, vast supplies like boxes of almond water and crates full of canned food and even ammunition, can be found scattered randomly through the pine tree forest. Do not approach these, as these are believed to be traps set up by entities known as Striders, which are known to inhabit the pine woods.
5th Area
As you progress further into the forest, the trees will gradually become shorter and more often dead than alive. No supply crates are found here, and a crimson moon will appear upon the horizon seemingly from nowhere once you reach this point. Many wanderers that have managed to escape this area have reported seeing Striders raising their arms in apparent worship of the red moon as they made their way through this bewildering forest.
6th Area
The sixth and final area is a barren, sandy heath that appears abruptly once you reach the edge of the woods in area five. Here the moon will disappear the moment you observe it, and will not return for the remainder of your stay in this level. The area ends at a massive hole in the ground with vertical sides and no visible bottom. Once you observe this hole, you will be compelled to walk towards it until you eventually fall in.
Entities
Striders
Striders are usually non-hostile and stop to watch passing wanderers as if out of curiosity but if a wanderer makes a noise above roughly 50 decibels then the strider will attack, contrary to their size, they are relatively weak and can be driven off by an armed wanderer but they pose a much greater threat in packs.
Entities in excess of 16ft tall have been encountered here and to date exist nowhere in other explored levels, they resemble humans but with unnaturally long limbs and "too many joints" and hammer shaped heads that are highly sensative to sound. have been designated as striders
Colonies and Outposts
