Operative: Hi, you have reached the M.E.G.; what can I do for you?

Description
Level Fear resembles a school bathroom — white tiles line the walls, with colorful checkered tiles occasionally breaking the monotony. It's just a giant maze — T-shaped intersections appear every 50 meters, begging the wanderer to turn left or right. Occasionally, messages may be written on the walls in blood — at the first intersection you encounter, there will be a dead body laying on the floor, with a bloody message on the wall begging you, "DO NOT TURN LEFT." It is unclear how large the maze is, but we estimate that it is around 150 kilometers long.
Small light structures may appear on the ceiling of the level, lighting up the darkness of the bathroom hallway. They flicker every few seconds, sometimes making noises consistent with electrical failure. Sometimes, the bulbs may actually burn out, leaving you in trouble. In the darkness lies several entities — Facelings, Skin-Stealers, and Smilers lie in wait, sometimes hidden in the bathroom stalls to ambush and kill you.
As consistent with a bathroom, toilets and sinks line the walls, their basins filled with Almond Water. Feels convenient, considering how this level is known to induce auditory and visual hallucinations, with many wanderers reporting hearing and seeing things that aren't there. Almond Water should indeed work to mitigate these hallucinations, but the Almond Water naturally present on this level ironically worsens them. It is recommended for travelers to bring their own Almond Water, which will have the intended effect of curing the hallucinations.
Random cassette tapes line the bloodied floor, presumably audio logs from previous wanderers. After hearing many of the audio logs, the M.E.G. has decided to name this place Level Fear for its dark, nightmarish atmosphere and its effectiveness in instilling nightmares in everyone who enters the level.
Entry is not recommended. Wanderers have been known to go insane, appearing tireless, agitated, and paranoid. Almond Water sometimes helps to lessen the severity, but cannot cure the sanity loss. The deterioration of the mind is progressive — soon, the wanderers will be driven to violence and may need to be euthanized for their own and others' safety.
Colonies and Outposts
Due to the nature of this level, creating a colony or outpost is infeasible.
Entrances and Exits
Entrances:
- Wander too far out in Level 189.
Exits:
- Behind some of the bathroom stalls are doors leading to various different levels. However, remember that entities in this level do love to hide inside the bathroom stalls—proceed with caution.

???: STAY BACK.
M.E.G. Operative: Relax, we're just responding to a call you sent several hours ago.
???: No. No. No. No. That's a damn lie. You're one of those Communists. Those hitmen out to get me.
M.E.G. Operative: No, we are friendly and are here to rescue you. Please, tell us who you are.
???: James Field, renowned codebreaker. I… work for the United States government, deciphering codes, Russian transmissions. I've been tasked with… looking at walls, newspapers, books… for anything that could possibly be a coded message from the Russians. My work… it's crucial to preventing a third World War. Those tiles… they're organized in a pattern. They… stick out at me.
M.E.G. Operative: That's ludicrous. Do you know where you are?
James: The bathroom of the Pentagon… you don't seem to carry any identification with you. How do I know you're not one of THEM?
M.E.G. Operative: Mr. Field, this is the Backrooms.
James: B-b-backrooms? So that's what you Russians call your prison camps.
M.E.G. Operative: Mr. Field, I am Derrick Drake, an operative tasked to rescue you from Level Fear. I am not a Russian, nor was I sent here to assassinate you.
James: That's not possible. The voices in my head tell me to just… run for it. "He's trying to trick you." "Come on, Field, you're wasting time. The Russians are going to kill us."
Derrick: The level's effects are really wearing off on you. Please, come with me. We need to get you some professional help.
James: DON'T YOU DARE TOUCH ME… SOMEBODY. HELP. PLEASE. THE RUSSIANS ARE TAKING ME IN!
Derrick: Come on now. [Grabs James Field]
James [Talking to the wall]: CHARLES. I SEE YOU LAUGHING. GET THIS MAN OFF OF ME! THEY'LL KILL ME!

Dr. Rose: James, do you understand why we brought you here?
James: To torture me… for information. I know nothing. Please. Let me go.
Dr. Rose: James, you're delusional. You're not a government worker. The Russians are not out to get you. It's all in your head.
James: No, Charles is very real. I saw him with my very own eyes.
Dr. Rose: Mr. Field, Derrick reported seeing nobody else during his rescue mission. You were talking to the bathroom wall. Charles does not exist. He is all in your head.
James: No. You're just trying to sway me. I won't.
Dr. Rose: James, you had an extended stay in Level Fear, and the effects it had on your mind are quite… disastrous to say the least. You're schizophrenic, James. Please, come to your senses.
James: No. You're one of those stupid brainwashers. I won't have it.
Dr. Rose: *Sigh* Level Fear has been known to cause deterioration in mental state. You're simply a victim of its nause-
James [Talking to the wall]: God, Charles, would you shut up? I don't need your input.
Dr. Rose: James, there's no one there.
James [Pulling out gun]: Oh for fuck's sake, doctor. Level Fear this, Level Fear that. Make up a more believable story, will ya?
Dr. Rose: I assure you, everything I'm telling you is the tru-
James: No it's… NOT.
