Level Inferno is an anomalous level of the Backrooms.

Description

Level Inferno is a dangerous anomalous level in the backrooms. The level takes the form of a random public building, whether that be a school, office, factory, discotheque, etc. Upon entering the level, one will find a raging fire spreading unnaturally fast throughout the building, prompting them to try and find an exit. However, do keep in mind that though the buildings may seem infinite in all proportions, it is still possible to escape via windows and fire exits, if there are any. Fire alarms will blare throughout the building, decreasing one's sanity the longer they stay on the level.

There are no known entities at this level. In fact, the most dangerous feature of this level are the flames and smoke, which could kill one in a single breath. Because of this, it is advised to follow the normal fire evacuation procedures you would normally follow in The Frontrooms. Around the building, almond water and other supplies are found, though it is advised not to gather too much since the fire spreads quickly. Another feature of the level is its anomalous ability to prevent any photographs or videos of the level. However, this ability seems to come from the smoke itself, though this has not been proven as of yet.

Forms

Level Inferno usually takes the form of a public building, any everyday complex you would pass by in [. Usually, these buildings do not reflect real-life structures. However, a few wanderers have reported that the level oftentimes takes the form of tragic fires that occur in the front rooms. Notable examples include:

  • The Kentex Factory was a slipper factory in the Philippines that burned in 2015.
  • Beverly Hills Supper Club, a nightclub in the U.S. that burned in 1977.
  • Kyoto Animation Studio 1 was a Japanese anime studio that burned down in 2019.
  • King's Cross Station, which suffered a major fire in 1987.
  • Gothenburg discotheque, a nightclub that suffered a deadly fire in 1998.

Colonies and Outposts

Due to the nature of the level, creating a colony or outpost is infeasible.

Entrances and Exits

Entrances

  • Setting a fire in a building on Level 11 will teleport you to Level Inferno.
  • Noclipping through an object set ablaze on any level will bring you to Level Inferno.
  • Recalling a childhood memory involving a deadly fire on Level 18 will cause you to wake up on this level.
  • Going through a hatch on a disused arcade game named "Battle the Flames!" on Level 3999 will bring you to the level's arcade form.

Exits

  • Breaking a window and escaping without injury will bring you to either Level 188, Level 11 (the same building you set fire to if you decide to follow the Level 11 method of entering) or Level 191.
  • Breaking a window but this time suffering at least some sort of injury will teleport you to the ambulance on Level 354. Similarly, inhaling the smoke and passing out has a rare chance to bring you to said level, but it is not advised.
  • Escaping via a fire exit will bring you to Level 317.
  • Noclipping through the floor has a rare chance of bringing you to Level 4.
