Level Smiler, (the original Level Frown) is a home and hub area for smilers. It can also be called "The Smiler Room".
The first layer of Level Smiler
Description
As the name implies, this level is where most Smilers stay and live out most of their days before traversing to different levels. This was the original Level Frown, but due to the Glowing Face War, the Smilers took it over and called it their home. It is unknown how they travel different levels in the Backrooms while they are here. This level is all sub-layers until you reach the end. There are supposedly 6 sub-layers in this level. Each getting deadlier and Smiler infested.
Sublayer 1: Darkened Mystery
This is the first sub-layer most will see if they somehow enter this level. The building's appearance is a building that doesn't have a resemblance to any other real-life building. There are no hints on what it truly could be. The place seems to be in the working process but has been abandoned before it could ever be finished. This is why some walls are unpainted, and floors are broken. Not a lot of smilers are present here, but it is very possible to encounter some. To exit, find a black door with a golden doorknob. Open the door and travel through to be transported to the second sub-layer.
Sublayer 2: A Stairway Down
Level Smiler Sublayer 2
This layer is a dirty staircase with dead grass covering the walls including some of the rotten wooden stairs. The stairs vary in size and shape. Some are wider and larger, or they can be tighter. Same with the first layer, it doesn't have a lot of Smilers, but it does have a little more, making it more dangerous. Find the circle hole at the end of the stairway, and crawl through it to go to the next layer.
Sublayer 3: Black and White Streets
Level Smiler Sublayer 3 with Hallucinations
This layer is where things begin to get more dangerous. The appearance of this level has very realistic hallucinations such as eyes and shadow-like hands trying to grab at your ankles. Taking a photo of these hallucinations will make them appear in the photo making them vastly realistic. The entire level is black and white. The only thing that will show color is yourself, including your clothes and other accessories that you may be holding. For example, watches, backpacks, hats, food, drink, etc. This is also where the Smilers start to become a lot more common. As well as your items having color, Smilers can be more alert of your arrival due to there being a color that pops out from the entire environment while inhabiting. Hop over a fence and run until you get teleported to the next layer.
Sublayer 4: The Corn Maze
Level Smiler Sublayer 4
Sublayer 4 is a large corn maze at night. The Smilers become very bad here, you may see them very commonly. This is where most people become Insanities which this level also has a fair share of. Thankfully, there are some lighted areas where you can see your surroundings. If you see an exit that has no fences nearby, do not enter it. If you do, you will be taken to sublayer 2. If you do see an exit with some fences, you will be at the 5th layer.
Sublayer 5: Fishing Spot
Sublayer 5 is the 2nd to the last Sublayer. The layer is a beachfront with tons of broken rotting decks with fishing poles there. The Smilers here are less common, but it is noted to understand your environment and to be careful. The only way to get to the 6th layer is to fish until you catch something that is a decent-sized fish. Put it on the ground and you will be at the last layer. Heading back will send you to Sublayer 4 and going into the ocean will take you to Sublayer 2. It is unknown the probability rates of the fish.
Sublayer 6: The Last Smile
This is the last layer in this level. This layer is a damp, run-down, broken forest that is very squeezed in and twisted. Smilers are nearly everywhere. Stay alert. There are tons of traps and items on the floor. Picking them up will take you to a different layer. Just stay focused and find the sign that says "Goodbye". Follow it to be taken to the level you originally entered.
Level Smiler Sublayer 5
Colonies and Outposts
Originally, before the original Level Frown was taken over, there was an outpost here called the International Frown Group, but they have relocated to the new Level Frown after Smilers had invaded the level, taking it over.
For now, there are no confirmed Colonies nor Outposts
Entrances and Exits
Entrances: In levels Level :) Level 1, Level -33 and [1]th3 sh4dy gr3y,you may become trapped in a dark room by noclipping in a shadow until you are teleported to this Level.
Exits: Following the sign saying "goodbye" will send you back to where you entered.
Discovery Log
Level Smiler Sublayer 6
Below, is a discovery log between (supposedly) two people. Their identities have yet to be classified.
Unknown 2: Hello? Can you hear me?
Unknown 1: Yes, I can- I can hear you. Shit... where am I? I can barely see!
Unknown 2: Where the fuck are you? I told you NOT to lurk around Level 1 without being careful. You know full well that there are hundreds of possible entrances here!
Unknown 1: Can we argue later? I need some assistance here.
Unknown 2: Fine, I'll need to ask you some questions first.
Unknown 1: Well, hurry up! This place does not look safe in the slightest.
Unknown 2: So how did you get to this place?
Unknown 1: Well... I walked into a dark room and I just... kind of fell I think? Like, through the floor?
Unknown 2: Interesting... what are your surroundings?
Unknown 1: The whole building seems to lack lights and... looks abandoned. The walls are unfinished, but most are painted blue.
Unknown 2: Never heard of that before... I wonder if (Inaudible).
Unknown 1: Sorry, can you repeat that? Holy shit, I have to go!! I see... a Smiler in the distance. Fuck...
Unknown 2: Stay calm, do not get o-

October 27, 2004
Unknown 2: Hey? Are you ok? Speak to me! You haven't communicated with us at all for the past weeks! I'm getting extremely worried...
Unknown 1: (Noises of panting). H-Hello?
Unknown 2: Oh my god! Guys! He's alive! (various cheering and chatter can be heard in the background.)
Unknown 1: Barely, I've been stuck at these rooms forever. Constantly going back and forth. These smiling creatures keep spotting and... It's been hard.
Unknown 2: Do not worry, our team is working the very best to find you.
Unknown 1: I'm... so hungry.. I fucking hate this.
Unknown 2: Hang in there, you'll be ok.
Unknown 1: (Inaudible)
Unknown 2: Why would you want to do that?
Unknown 1: Just... don't be scared about it. I've lasted this long already. I should probably stop making this much noise. I'll sign off.
Unknown 2: (Sighing) I strongly disagree with that, but I'm not gonna fight you again.
Unknown 1: Thanks, see ya on the flipside.
Unknown 2: I.. guess.
