What is Survival Difficulty?
The survival difficulty of a level is how hard it is to survive in a level if you enter it. The dangers range from entities to environments to mental hazards, and there are templates for all of them.
Survival difficulty templates can be accessed by running {{Class (Class Here)}} in the source editor.
Entity Survival Difficulties
This is the standard survival difficulty, classified by the amount of harmful entities in the level.
Class 0 is used for levels that are mostly safe. There are no entities whatsoever in these levels, so keep that in mind if you are using this template. Also remember that safety is not really common in the Backrooms, so use this one sparingly. Wanderers love these levels because they are safe but not too rare, so they can usually find one to live in eventually. These levels usually also have plenty of supplies.
Class 1 levels are still mostly safe. There are not very many entities in these levels, and they may have developed colonies. These levels usually also have supplies.
Class 2 is where you might have to start worrying about entities. There are still not very many of them, but enough that you should be careful. These levels usually have some people living here as well, and you can usually still find some supplies.
Class 3 is where things start to get serious. You should prepare to encounter entities before entering one of these levels. Sometimes people still live here, but not very many. It is advised to travel in groups and bring supplies when entering these levels.
Class 4 levels have many entities in them and are not safe to inhabit. There are not usually supplies in these levels. It is advised not to enter these levels unless you are prepared to fight entities and have plenty of supplies with you.
Class 5 levels are extremely dangerous. Like the template says, they are infested with entities. These levels should be avoided at all times, unless it has been somewhat secured like Level 8, in which case you should prepare in a similar way to Class 4.
Class 7 levels should be avoided at all costs. They are rare but extremely dangerous. They have even more deadly entities than Class 5 levels. (To be honest, I don't know much about this template because there's only one level on this wiki with this class) Template:Class ! These levels are few and far-between, but are extremely dangerous and should be avoided at all costs. The entities here are somewhat sapient and will collect in groups to attack wanderers. These levels are uninhabitable and even M.E.G. tries to avoid them.
Environmental Survival difficulties
Environmental survival difficulties are classified by hazards other than entities. For example, Level 153 is classified as 2e, not because there are entities but because there are fires that have consumed many areas of the level. Environmental difficulty templates are labeled as the number followed by an E.
Example: Environmental Class 3
Mental Hazards
Mental hazard levels are levels that can affect your mental health and will deplete your sanity.
Class Ψ levels have a mental hazard. These levels will usually cause you to lose sanity over time. Almond Water can revert these effects, so bring plenty of it.
(This template is not fixed yet, so it just uses the sigma pic instead of omega)
Class Ω levels are extremely dangerous mentally. They will deplete your mental health rapidly, at a rate that not even almond water can fix. Avoid these levels at all costs.
Corrupted Levels
Corrupted levels are levels that are non-euclidean or broken within the very source code of the Backrooms. They are to be classified as Sigma.
Class Vector is an extremely broken difficulty that dilates time.
Safe Survival Difficulties
Safe survival difficulties are levels that are extremely safe. These difficulties should be used sparingly as they are very rare in the Backrooms.
Class -2 levels are rare. They are completely safe and contain entities that will actually help you. It is actually advised to stay if you find one of these levels just because of how safe it is.
Class Habitable levels are safe enough to have sustained communities. There are no harmful entities here and an abundance of supplies.
Class -5 levels are very rare but are devoid of any danger whatsoever. They are habitable and one of the best places to stay if you come across one.
Joke Survival Difficulties
These are difficulties made for Joke Levels that are not canon to the Backrooms lore.
For joke levels that are based on memes. They are mostly safe but can deplete your mental health over time.
Supposedly this is where you go if you die in the Backrooms. It is very chad.
Big number survival difficulty.
