Greetings Gary! I mean no harm...

Come now, sit down! don't be alarmed...

I'm within a place that soon you'll find...

Is it real? is it not? It is all up to your mind...

אלוהים הוא טוב

Description: About Me:

Do not fret... Don't be shy... You'll come to like me... and so will I... I can guide you to a world of mystery... I can even show you varying histories...

Mortis Abelson possesses god-like abilities such as being able to make something appear out of nothingness , except for The Frontrooms. It displays high abundance of knowledge yet It lacks wisdom (human wisdom to be precise) and would often ask weird and completely random questions towards wanderers. These questions may vary from: where they once lived or how many friends have they made within the backrooms. Little is known about its true nature, but people speculate that the entity is hiding something sinister behind the smile it wears.

A recreation of the music heard when the entity is nearby...

Your eyes could decieve you... You should keep them in check...

I'm only one of a kind... Just like cards within a deck...

I can assure you... I'm not a threat...

But if you take what's not yours... be sure to pay the debt...

Behavior: Manners:

Mortis Abelson normally interacts with wanderers like how another one would. The entity can make jokes, tell stories, and more so often, sympathize with the wanderers. It is also able to identify fear, sadness, happiness, and even the evil intentions of said wanderers. The entity locates the wanderers by tracking their voices and thoughts that are scattered within the level it resides in. The most common behavior associated with this entity is that its sentences always end with a :> . It is also shown being capable of speaking all languages proficiently and is able to defy the laws of physics just to make a joke out of the reality of the The Frontrooms. It uses its powers to either amuse or entertain people, reason is unknown.

I can feel... I can heal...

I doubt that everything within this plane is real...

Beyond the love... Above the hate...

There is more to this reality... I cannot wait...

Biology: What Am I ?:

Mortis Abelson is an entity that possesses varying forms. Only 4 of them have been Identified so far; Who knows what kind of form it shall take next... The entity has undergone hazard assessments along with its 4 forms, and have amassed varying levels of danger. So for your convenience, we will label each form and give them their own Hazard Classes.

<Relation / Interactions Towards Entities Them:

Relation / Interactions Towards Entities Them:

Mortis Abelson does not seem to discriminate nor treat entities as lower lifeforms compared to itself. It acts accordingly to how it is treated and will kill them if deemed necessary. Some entities fear it, and some do not; This does not really affect their mutual relationship at all. Overall most entities are familiar and are aware of Mortis Abelson's existence within the backrooms. So here are the recorded interactions that are observed and proven by other wanderers regarding its behavior towards varying entities.

  • Smilers: Mortis is known by the Smilers and they fear him due to his "Superior Toothless Smile". Some reports even suggest that even with only Mortis' presence, some Smilers died out of shock. The entity interacts with the smiler regularly, without any sense of aggression, oblivious to the fact that the Smilers do fear him within the depths of their mind. Mortis' has been also known to kill Smilers that have attacked Frowners.
  • Frowners: Mortis cares for the Frowner's existence. It interacts with the entities like a parental figure that would help them in their problems from time to time. It helps the Frowners by scaring away Smilers or even cause mass genocide of Smilers to put the Frowners at ease. The entity seems to really be attached to the Frowners, the reason is yet to be identified. On the other hand, the Frowners are grateful for Mortis' existence, they think of it as a great protector, and they give him the utmost respect they could give it.
  • Death Moths: Mortis treats Death Moths like pets, giving them Moth Jelly from time to time. The way the entity has been able to pull out jars of Moth Jelly from nothingness is still a mystery. Death Moths do also treat Mortis as if It was their real owner, effectively forming a pet and owner relationship between to entities. The interaction between the King and Queen of the Death Moths and the entity are yet to be documented.
  • Clumps: Mortis always gets mistaken as a wanderer, so it always gets attacked by the Clumps. In most cases Mortis will immediately kill them within a millisecond using Death Inducement.
  • Hounds: Mortis mostly ignores them as it knows that they fear It. Hounds fear the entity for it gives them an uneasy feeling that doesn't seem to go away as long as Mortis is within their vicinity. The entity is known to have killed hundreds of hounds during a single confrontation and has been confirmed to revert people who are infected with the Hound Virus back to normal human beings.
  • Facelings: Mortis treats Facelings just like how a normal human would treat another, It is on equal terms with them. Child Facelings do often attack It, but the entity always retaliates with a slap that instantly renders the Child Facelings docile. The entity has never been recorded killing any facelings, reasons are yet to be identified.
  • Skin-Stealers: Mortis is rarely seen interacting with one, but in most cases it will just nod and leave them be. Some suggest that there is a secret agenda between the entities, but this is yet to be confirmed.
  • Sixarms: There is only one recorded encounter between a Sixarms and Mortis Abelson. During this encounter, Mortis can be seen reaping the Sixarms' individual arms, one by one, killing it slowly. Some wanderers even claim that it probably knows how many arms does the beast truly have.
  • Figures / The Humanoid on Level 2: Mortis has come into contact with it in order to save a certain wanderer at Level 2. It seems to have stopped it dead on its tracks to save the wanderer. More information is needed.
  • Wall Worms: Mortis can be often seen dragging worms with it within different levels, the purpose is yet to be identified.
  • Death Rats: Mortis treats these creatures like the rats they are. It sees them as an annoyance, most of the time. Death Rats would often try to attack him, but in most cases, they are forced to enter their docile state due to Mortis' ability to intimidate lesser entities.
  • Toxin Spitters: There is only little interaction between the entity and the Toxin Spitters. The most well known encounter was a fight at Level 1, where Mortis ate the acid sac of a Toxin Spitter and spat out black goo that is far corrosive than that of a Toxin Spitters acid. This might be the product of his Power Replication ability. Toxin Spitters don't really fear Mortis at all and will attack him if provoked.
  • Rattlers: There was only one interaction ever recorded, just like its interaction with Sixarms. Mortis was seen eating the Rattler with no apparent reason at all. Reason is still yet to be identified.
  • The Mother: Many children and teens have seen Mortis visit The Mother. They describe their talk as mostly about the cycle of life and death and how everything goes back where it's supposed to be. There are no recorded hostile interactions between the two entities. Will still continue to observe this behavior.
  • The Puppeteer: Mortis sees The Puppeteer as a bubbly and outgoing entity that harbors no hate and gives wanderers and entities second chances. It has a huge respect for what The Puppeteer does and even considers them to be a great ally. No hostility recorded between the two during an interaction. More information is still needed to conclude claims.
  • The Partygoers: Mortis harbors hate towards The Partygoers due to their very nature and how they rendered a species of entities extinct. It will stop at nothing to give The Partygoers a slow and painful death. Hostility between Mortis and The Partygoers are off the charts, this is not good. Mortis is also known to revert people whom have turned into Partygoers back to their human state.
  • Partypoopers: Mortis feels bad for the Partypoopers due to their partial extinction in the hands of The Partygoers. It is recently believed by many wanderers that Mortis Ableson is trying to bring these dead entities back to life using his Resurrection ability. Little is known about It's relation to the Partypoopers, only time will tell... if It were to revive these nearly dead entities.
  • Showrunners: Mortis normally interacts with them on Level 506 . It sees Showrunners as a friendly ally and would often hang around with them. More Information is needed.
  • Crimson Wanderer: There are no recorded interactions between the two of these entities, but due to their similarities and relations with other entities, we decided to put this instead as a placeholder; In case if something interesting happens...
  • The Gardener: Rumors has it that these two entities have clashed once before, rendering The Gardener weak for a long period of time. Some people even claim that Mortis could be even more powerful than The Gardener. All of these are rumors and speculation and is yet to be confirmed.
  • King of Normality: There is yet to be an Interaction between these two entities. Just like the Crimson Wanderer, due to some of their similarities, we decided to put this instead as a placeholder; In case if something interesting happens...
  • The Clocksmith: Mortis sees the clocksmith as a regular old man. He often visits his clock shop to ask for recommendations and tips regarding the manipulation of the space-time continuum. Further information is required.
  • Dino: Dino and Mortis don't trust one another. Dino does not trust Mortis because It believes that Mortis is human while Mortis does not trust Dino because It came from a different Frontrooms (Another Parallel Universe) . However, they seem to have similar abilities. Upon further research, there is quite a history between these two entities, but there are no signs of hostility ever recorded between the two entities. Further research required.
  • The Storyteller: The relationship that is observed between the two entities are completely one sided, Mortis being the only one that reacts towards The Storyteller's existence. We also placed this among the relations due to their similarities in nature. Further information is required.
  • The Mail Carrier: Mortis does seem to be acquainted to The Mail Carrier. The Mail Carrier seems to allow Mortis to read the journals and diaries of deceased wanderers. There is a theory that states, that these two work back to back both honoring the dead by different means; Mortis guides the souls to the afterlife, while The Mail Carrier lets the soul's relatives know about the death of their loved one. More research needed.
  • HER: They seem to have quite the conflicy in one another. One being the protector, the other being the destroyer. Their conversations would lead to more opposing ideas than what others can tell. Both entities say they feel against one another, as they seem to balance everything out with destruction, and protection.
  • The Redacted Watcher: Mortis seems to be wary of The Redacted Watcher, It does not believe nor revere the entity as a God. The only interaction made between the two is at The Redacted Watcher's page. Be weary if you dare enter that page. More research needed.
  • Zalgo The Eclipser: Recently, a wanderer who escaped from level 82 claimed to have been witness to a great battle between Mortis and Zalgo The Eclipser. According to the wanderer, Mortis emerged out of nowhere and interrupted Zalgo in the middle of his chase. The wanderer used this opportunity to hide, and then silently watched as the two entities met and conversed for short moment before Zalgo attempted to viscously attack Mortis with its mantis-like appendages. However, Mortis proved to be stronger when he tore off one of the entities limbs with his bare hands and forced Zalgo into a retreat. A more detailed report can be found in Backdoors Rescuers Rescue Log #700.
  • Mater Lunae: Mortis doesn't consider her as a God, but he applauds her for her kindness. But he still does not support her claims of being a God.
  • The Mastermind: Mortis only considers this entity as a nuissance and nothing more. It is claimed by wanderers that Mortris could easily negate the powers of The Mastermind and render him powerless within seconds.
  • Entity ☢: Mortis perceives this entity as nothing but a living toy, although it might seem scary to normal humans, Mortis seems to only glance and turn his head around when he encounters this entity.
  • The Lone Wanderer: Mortis sympathizes towards this entity just like how he would talk to any immortal being all the time. It comforts The Lone Wanderer and tells it to just keep on living, and maybe one day, just maybe one day, he would finally pass on to the other side while Mortis guides him to The Gates.
  • Mr. ██████: Mortis keeps an eye on this entity the most because It possesses abilities that are quite similar to himself. He regards him as "The Blur". Reason yet to be identified.
  • The Cameraman: Mortis only sees the man as a regular wanderer. Although, Mortis can sense something within him that he won't tell us anything about.
  • The Keymaster: Mortis hates The Keymaster due to the fact that it boasts its power just like Qui Videt Omnia, and refers to itself as a all-powerful God, just like most Gods do within The Backrooms.
  • Qui Videt Omnia: Mortis dislikes the "organization" of the entity, Mortis feels repulsive when he comes in contact with the entity and will try to hurt it. More information needed.
  • The Ever Present: Mortis mocks this entity because of their "childish" actions that is unbecoming of a so-called "God". Moertis usually refferences him as "The Child". More information needed.
  • Hubris: Mortis seems to be intrigued to Hubris' actions as he finds them unique and "weird" at the same time. More information needed.
  • Father Time: Mortis does seem to bypass Father Time's ability to travel to different realities and timelines. Mortis also surpasses Father Time by raw and sheer power.
  • Level 883: I know, this seems to be a bit crazy with a full on LEVEL having a relationship with another entity, however, I can say that this. Our relationship, isn't the best let's just say. We tend to have our own arguments, but not any that led to hostility. You can ask Mortis himself, he might say the same thing. I haven't talked to him in a while, and I sure hope he isn't angry at me for rejecting the M.E.G's offer, but I don't like them, simple as that. All they do is take full on control over everything, and I just can't take it. Their actions have consequences you know. You haven't seen the end of it just yet. I will reassure you that I, have my own policy for what comes in and out, those, people, are not one of them allowed in MY DOMAIN.

Discovery: His Story:

Mortis Abelson was first discovered by a man named Joesep Regidalle. Joesep was walking within the Dreamscape Mines when he found a stone as black as the void, he named it the Death Stone because it vaguely reminds him of his dead grandfather's ring, which has a black stone embedded within it. As he touched the Death Stone he was immediately transported to a mysterious Level . Joesep didn't know what to do about his new found discovery, he was shook to the core. As he tried to look around the dark realm, The entity appeared in front of the man, with eyes gleaming with curiosity. Joesep then proceeded to record and log the encounter:

[Log Start]
* Distorted audio *
Joesep: H-Hello, my name is Joesep Regidalle, a wanderer.
Mortis: Greetings, Joesep the wanderer. My name is Mortis Abelson... an entity. To what I owe your unprecedented arrival?
Joesep: Uh... I stumbled upon your level by accident... and I can't seem to find my way out...
Mortis: That is quite unfortunate, I can lead you to the exit... but you must feed my curiosity first. :>
Joesep: Your curiosit-
Mortis: Yes! My curiosity! You see, I have always been fascinated by the behavior of humans within this certain reality. So, I wonder if you could tell me more about what you all think about this place, The Backrooms?
Joesep: W-Well, I think this place is scary and unforgiving...
Mortis: How so?
Joesep: Uh... you know? Like... the place is crawling with creepy sounds, monsters, and levels, just like a messed up video game.
Mortis: What is this that you call a "video game"? :>
Joesep: Video games are-
???: WHO'S THERE!?
Mortis: Quick! Hide!
* Inaudible roars and screeches across the distance *
Joesep: Okay, but... we can pick this up later, right?
Mortis: Yes, yes. Now go! Now!
* Joesep attempts to hide *
???: FLESH! FRESH FLESH! THE HUNGER IS OVER! I SHALL FEAST LIKE A KING!
Mortis: No-
[Log End]

Conclusion of Log:

Image of Joesep Regidalle taken within an unidentifiable level withtin The Backrooms. Photographer status unknown.

Upon investigation, It has become apparent that there is another entity within the level. Unfortunately for Joesep, he met a gruesome fate in the hands of the entity.

The thing about mortals... Is that they quickly come and go...

Such little time... Such little room to grow...

I feel bad for their existence... I really do...

Even though I can't really feel the things they've all been through...

Nevertheless... I shall guide you to the light...

Farewell, Joesep... And welcome to the afterlife...

Origin: My Story:

Mortis Abelson is the product of the first major death of a sentient being within the universe, the death of Abel. Upon his death, certain particles were released unto the air, these particles were later named D-Particles. These particles only come to exist during the death of a sentient living being. The particles normally attract to one another, causing a particle formation known as the Black Parade. When the clustered particles reached its maximum density (specifically 100^200 Micrillions of particles), they imploded and formed a black mass known as Living Death. This black mass then began to siphon more D-particles to aid in its development as an entity. And once a certain amount of the particles were amassed, the black mass finally attained sentience and a human-like consciousness. Due to this, the entity obtained the ability to harness memories from dead through the particles it has gathered, effectively analyzing any memory of the living beings that once came before it. The entity then began to feel and act like humans do, slowly absorbing and manifesting the best qualities of the human race. The reason as to why it manifested human consciousness is due to the fact that humans are the smartest and the most sentient beings to ever exist. Although humans are claimed to be intellectual and capable of certain emotions and personalities, the entity has certain difficulties when it comes to the "assimilation aspect" of its transformation.

It wandered the earth cluelessly, not knowing what to do, for it has yet to grasp the concept of life on earth. And thousands of years then passed, the entity was exposed to enough stimulus to finally act like a normal human being and live amongst their ranks as if it was part of their race. Once every few days since its full assimilation, it began to feel emotions on a first-hand basis, unlike the emotions within the memories it analyzed. Thus, over the span of 200 years, it finally became human.

As it knew of its ability to use memories as a source of information, it began dig deeper in order to find its true origins, and when it found out, It was somewhat, amused, of how it came to be. It continued to live among humanity until 1944, the height of the second world war in The Frontrooms . The all-knowing entity known as GOD, decided to pull the entity out of The Frontrooms and placed it within the backrooms. The entity never understood the purpose of such divine intervention and nor did it react physically at all. And as time went by, the entity began to become accustomed within The Backrooms where it roams the levels seeking for knowledge among the wanderers due to the fact that it can no longer harness D-particles within the reality it resides in.

The First Immortal Slasher

Cain... I sense your presence... I know you're here...

Do not leave, I know that I am what you fear...

If you believe that I'm familiar, you'd be mistaken...

I am not him, and your sins are not forgiven...

I don't know how you ended up here, but welcome nonetheless...

This is a vast, never-ending reality... Let it all fill you in about the rest...

I know there will be conflict... We'll be at each other's throats...

But there is no mercy when it comes to murderers... so ye abandon all hopes...

Know him well...
...

They now see you for what you truly are...

Those brutal actions won't get you far...

How long till you break? Only time will tell...

God once let you walk the earth... Now Welcome to Hell!
