Greetings Gary! I mean no harm...

Come now, sit down! don't be alarmed...

I'm within a place that soon you'll find...

Is it real? is it not? It is all up to your mind...

אלוהים הוא טוב

Description: About Me:

Do not fret... Don't be shy... You'll come to like me... and so will I... I can guide you to a world of mystery... I can even show you varying histories...

Mortis Abelson possesses god-like abilities such as being able to make something appear out of nothingness , except for The Frontrooms. It displays high abundance of knowledge yet It lacks wisdom (human wisdom to be precise) and would often ask weird and completely random questions towards wanderers. These questions may vary from: where they once lived or how many friends have they made within the backrooms. Little is known about its true nature, but people speculate that the entity is hiding something sinister behind the smile it wears.

A recreation of the music heard when the entity is nearby...

Your eyes could decieve you... You should keep them in check...

I'm only one of a kind... Just like cards within a deck...

I can assure you... I'm not a threat...

But if you take what's not yours... be sure to pay the debt...

Behavior: Manners:

Mortis Abelson normally interacts with wanderers like how another one would. The entity can make jokes, tell stories, and more so often, sympathize with the wanderers. It is also able to identify fear, sadness, happiness, and even the evil intentions of said wanderers. The entity locates the wanderers by tracking their voices and thoughts that are scattered within the level it resides in. The most common behavior associated with this entity is that its sentences always end with a :> . It is also shown being capable of speaking all languages proficiently and is able to defy the laws of physics just to make a joke out of the reality of the The Frontrooms. It uses its powers to either amuse or entertain people, reason is unknown.

I can feel... I can heal...

I doubt that everything within this plane is real...

Beyond the love... Above the hate...

There is more to this reality... I cannot wait...

Biology: What Am I ?:

The entity has undergone hazard assessments along with its 4 forms, and have amassed varying levels of danger. Relation / Interactions Towards Entities Them:

Mortis Abelson does not seem to discriminate nor treat entities as lower lifeforms compared to itself. It acts accordingly to how it is treated and will kill them if deemed necessary. Some entities fear it, and some do not; This does not really affect their mutual relationship at all. Overall most entities are familiar and are aware of Mortis Abelson's existence within the backrooms. So here are the recorded interactions that are observed and proven by other wanderers regarding its behavior towards varying entities.

  • Smilers: Their smiles could be deadly, sometimes it hurts. The pain is indescribable, it cannot be defined by words.
  • Frowners: They frown because they are unhappy, they frown because they're scared. Should they be hurt, dear offender beware.
  • Death Moths: A very good friend, yet a scary foe. Do not hurt one, the others will know. I like these creatures, so humble yet small. Try to hunt them, it will be your own fall.
  • Clumps: Such dexterous of an entity, yet dumb to the bone. I'd always kill them, if I were to roam. A cluster of hands, it is indeed "handy". But if it attacks me, it be shattered like glass candy.
  • Hounds: Too funny to look at, too easy to fight. My tip? Always be near the light. The disease it brings, it can be reversed. Some say it's a punishment, some say it's a curse.
  • Facelings: Close to home, friendly friends. Would be there for you till your life ends. I dislike children, some could say the same. Some call me heartless, some call me insane.
  • Skin-Stealers: A skin can be worn, a heart can be torn. A man can be killed, a monster will be born.
  • Sixarms: An abomination to behold, a story is yet to be told. A fight was fought a champion to be mold, It was never really bold.
  • Figures / The Humanoid on Level 2: A shadow of darkness, so cold, so chaotic. If one were to face it head on, it would be idiotic. A friend of mine before I came. We met a long time ago, and I couldn't get a name.
  • Wall Worms: Worms to have, worms to get. I've been doing this for so long, I can't forget.
  • Death Rats: A rat is a rat, plain and simple. I could easily pop their heads like a ripe pimple.
  • Toxin Spitters: What they spit is what they are, what they spit never gets far. They'd take me to a ride, a roundabout. And it shall be me that they'd worry about.
  • Rattlers: Tasty delight, devoid of light. The crunch of might, what a beautiful sight.
  • The Mother: Nurture is in her nature, children are what's around her. She guides them on the path of life, she ensures children's futures.
  • The Puppeteer: A friendly doll, a delightful tone. A bubble gal, a taste of home.
  • The Partygoers: Brutal few, friendly looks. One would be grabbed by their sharp hooks. Deadly liars. Best option: light them on fire.
  • Showrunners: A friend that stays put, a friend that waits. A friend that listens, my time does not go to waste.
  • Crimson Wanderer: A knight on a quest, so vague to understand. Good or bad? What side does he command.
  • The Gardener: An enemy, a friend. Too close to remember, too close to end. A garden is wilting, something shall arise. Be sure to wait, use your very own eyes.
  • King of Normality: Too normal to remember, too normal to forget. Would be a great companion, too bad we never met. Normal is average, and average is normal. Being average is so simple, yet it's so formal.
  • The Clocksmith: Old man wants to be rid of me, but I will persevere. Time shall be mine to use. Time shall be here.
  • Dino: Doubts run too deep, too deep to tell. A relationship so vague, a relationship that's not too well. Trust is just like water, and water would be scarce. Could be the truth, could a farce.
  • The Storyteller: Stories need no telling, one shall tell their own. Everything one need to tell is at the top of their own dome. It has no purpose, no grand destiny at all. No one would probably notice if it's the time for It to fall.
  • The Mail Carrier: A humble force of noble works, a messenger through multiple worlds. A kind soul that never hurts, a soul that allows me to read their words
  • HER: A woman of chaos, a woman of temper. An unstable force, and everyone hates her.
  • The Redacted Watcher: A "God" of these halls, a figure with no balls. A delusional angel, who only says false.
  • Zalgo The Eclipser: Recently, a wanderer who escaped from level 82 claimed to have been witness to a great battle between Mortis and Zalgo The Eclipser. According to the wanderer, Mortis emerged out of nowhere and interrupted Zalgo in the middle of his chase. The wanderer used this opportunity to hide, and then silently watched as the two entities met and conversed for short moment before Zalgo attempted to viscously attack Mortis with its mantis-like appendages. However, Mortis proved to be stronger when he tore off one of the entities limbs with his bare hands and forced Zalgo into a retreat. A more detailed report can be found in Backdoors Rescuers Rescue Log #700.
  • Mater Lunae: The moon is quite bright, but no one rules it. The wind on a bright starry night, that would be the sound of music.
  • The Mastermind: Manipulation is not good for me, it feeds on the mind. His problem towards me would always be that I'm right behind.
  • Entity ☢: A toy of enigmatic origin, a toy with no owner. A single toy looking for friends, a true toy loner.
  • The Lone Wanderer: A man of suffering, a man of vitality. A man that's cursed to roam for eternity.
  • The Cameraman: The one that captures these halls, the one that slips through their walls. A man of sheer aura, a man that never falls.
  • The Keymaster: A man of mystery, a man of secrecy. A man of pure madness, a man of sheer misery.
  • Qui Videt Omnia: A dysfunctional construct, pretending to add. A machine thinking they're a "God" , that is too sad.
  • The Ever Present: A child in a anomalous body, a man of pure childishness. A lowly animal that belongs to the wilderness.
  • Hubris: An interesting man, too good not to look into. I want to truly know what journeys he has been through.
  • Father Time: Time is a friend, and Time can be used. Don't get it wrong, nor get you confused.
  • Level 883: I know, this seems to be a bit crazy with a full on LEVEL having a relationship with another entity, however, I can say that this. Our relationship, isn't the best let's just say. We tend to have our own arguments, but not any that led to hostility. You can ask Mortis himself, he might say the same thing. I haven't talked to him in a while, and I sure hope he isn't angry at me for rejecting the M.E.G's offer, but I don't like them, simple as that. All they do is take full on control over everything, and I just can't take it. Their actions have consequences you know. You haven't seen the end of it just yet. I will reassure you that I, have my own policy for what comes in and out, those, people, are not one of them allowed in MY DOMAIN.

Discovery: His Story:

Log #1

Mortis Abelson was first discovered by a man named Joesep Regidalle. Joesep was walking within the Dreamscape Mines when he found a stone as black as the void, he named it the Death Stone because it vaguely reminds him of his dead grandfather's ring, which has a black stone embedded within it. As he touched the Death Stone he was immediately transported to a mysterious Level . Joesep didn't know what to do about his new found discovery, he was shook to the core. As he tried to look around the dark realm, The entity appeared in front of the man, with eyes gleaming with curiosity. Joesep then proceeded to record and log the encounter:

[Log Start]
* Distorted audio *
Joesep: H-Hello, my name is Joesep Regidalle, a wanderer.
Mortis: Greetings, Joesep the wanderer. My name is Mortis Abelson... an entity. To what I owe your unprecedented arrival?
Joesep: Uh... I stumbled upon your level by accident... and I can't seem to find my way out...
Mortis: That is quite unfortunate, I can lead you to the exit... but you must feed my curiosity first. :>
Joesep: Your curiosit-
Mortis: Yes! My curiosity! You see, I have always been fascinated by the behavior of humans within this certain reality. So, I wonder if you could tell me more about what you all think about this place, The Backrooms?
Joesep: W-Well, I think this place is scary and unforgiving...
Mortis: How so?
Joesep: Uh... you know? Like... the place is crawling with creepy sounds, monsters, and levels, just like a messed up video game.
Mortis: What is this that you call a "video game"? :>
Joesep: Video games are-
???: WHO'S THERE!?
Mortis: Quick! Hide!
* Inaudible roars and screeches across the distance *
Joesep: Okay, but... we can pick this up later, right?
Mortis: Yes, yes. Now go! Now!
* Joesep attempts to hide *
???: FLESH! FRESH FLESH! THE HUNGER IS OVER! I SHALL FEAST LIKE A KING!
Mortis: No-
[Log End]

Conclusion of Log #1:

Image of Joesep Regidalle taken within an unidentifiable level withtin The Backrooms. Photographer status unknown.

Upon investigation, It has become apparent that there is another entity within the level. Unfortunately for Joesep, he met a gruesome fate in the hands of the entity.

The thing about mortals... Is that they quickly come and go...

Such little time... Such little room to grow...

I feel bad for their existence... I really do...

Even though I can't really feel the things they've all been through...

Nevertheless... I shall guide you to the light...

Farewell, Joesep... And welcome to the afterlife...

Log #2:

This is a recorded conversation between Mortis and Behrooz Cloverfeild. Both entities are located at Level Fun. Reasons yet to be found. Tape originates from a unknown audio recorder. Level unidentified.

[Log start]
Behroos: Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh! Finally a bench... been walkin' for like, 5 hours now...
*Behrooz can be audibly heard tying a rope and climbing on top of the bench*
Mortis: Hello...
Behrooz: HOLY SHI- Who the fuck are you, mate? Could you please go somewhere else? I can't kill myself with someone watching...
Mortis: I need to be here.
Behrooz: What? You got a suicide kink, that it?
Mortis: No, I need to be here because you are about to die.
Behrooz: Oh... So you want to loot me when I die? I'm cool with that. You gotta do what ya gotta do to survive, mate.
Mortis: Not really, I just need to be here just in case you die.
Behrooz: Is this an insurance thing or what? I don't get it.
Mortis: Me neither, but it's my job. I need to deal with it.
Behrooz: Wait... are you God?
Mortis: Not really. Too high.
Behrooz: You're The Devil then?
Mortis: Nope. Too low.
Behrooz: Death?
Mortis: Ding! Ding! Ding!
Behrooz: Oh... so I'm gonna die then? Do I? Say yes pleaseeeeeeeeeee!
Mortis: Completely up to you, pal. To be honest, I don't think that intense luck of yours would allow you to do it anyways.
Behrooz: Oh, should've known. Atleast I tried, ya kno'?
Mortis: It hurts doesn't it? Not being able to die?
Behrooz: Uhhhhhh kinda. At first it does. It's kinda like shaggin, the more you do it, the looser the hole gets, so the lesser the pain.
Mortis: Pretty vulgar way to put it, but at least it makes sense. But I can neither say it's factual or not.
Behrooz: I kno' right?
Mortis: So, will you proceed killing yourself with a noose or no? Mr. Cloverfeild
Behrooz: You know me?
Mortis: I know everybody. It's part of my job.
Behrooz: Well... I think I'll pass. Thanks by the way!
Mortis: For what?
Behrooz: For telling me not to die.
Mortis: I didn't tell you that, you must be imagining it. I'm just doing my job.
Behrooz: Don't you get tired at all? I mean, there are many people dying as we speak, and you're here staying to meet some british bloke.
Mortis: Not that much. I'm practically everywhere to be honest. I am made without any element of fatigue. I'm the "perfect" worker. I can be efficient and concise because nothing would halt the processes that I shall make.
Behrooz: Whoa, that's deep. I'm like 18, but this is so deep, bruv.
Mortis: There was nothing "deep" found within that sentence, are you on drugs?
Behrooz: Ate some shrooms few hours ago, still feeling 'afloat' at the moment.
Mortis: Uh ok.
Behrooz: Yeah. So uhhhh- What's God like?
Mortis: Never seen his true form. He is quite respectful all the time. And he sees all-
Behrooz: Yeah, yeah, he's omnipotent and can see me having a good ol' wank, yadda, yadda, yadda. Typical. What about The Devil then?
Mortis: He's fine. He's just "occupied" most of the time.
Behrooz: What does he do?
Mortis: Gambling, Drug Dealing, Drug Smuggling, Prostitution, Underage Prostitution, Domestic Abuse, Child Abduction, Cannibalism, Financial Embezzlement, Tax Fraud, Tax Evasion, Government Corruption, General Pollution, Global Warming, and many more.
Behrooz: Damn... he's livin' the life, eh?
Mortis: I guess...
Behrooz: What about you, big man? Aside from the "Regular Death Stuff" , what do you do?
Mortis: I track down Gods.
Behrooz: Whoa! That's cool! But why tho'?
Mortis: Those "Gods" are not what they seem... They hail from different universes, and they make people believe that they are Gods within this reality too. In short, they are desperate to gain followers and believers just like a depressed emo teen would on TikTok.
Behrooz: So... The multiverse is real. That is like a dream come true!
Mortis: Yes, alternate realities, alternate timelines, and alternate dimensions.
Behrooz: Whoa... thats bonkers, bruv.
Mortis: So-
Behrooz: Wait, hol' up! I have a interesting question.
Mortis: What would that query be?
Behrooz: If you're tracking down Gods, does that mean you don't fear them?
Mortis: Why would I? They will always end back to me.
Behrooz: What?
Mortis: Gods die. I've seen it.
Behrooz: WHAT!?
Mortis: Yes, they do.
Behrooz: No way...
Mortis: Yes way.
Behrooz: So you're saying that even the all-powerful Gods will end up dead. Does that mean you're above them?
Mortis: Not really, no.
Behrooz: I mean, you can live forever, mate. For eternity, even.
Mortis: That's what I fear...
Behrooz: Fear what?
Mortis: Loneliness...

Origin: My Story:

Mortis Abelson is the product of the first major death of a sentient being within the universe, the death of Abel. Upon his death, certain particles were released unto the air, these particles were later named D-Particles. These particles only come to exist during the death of a sentient living being. The particles normally attract to one another, causing a particle formation known as the Black Parade. When the clustered particles reached its maximum density (specifically 100^200 Micrillions of particles), they imploded and formed a black mass known as Living Death. This black mass then began to siphon more D-particles to aid in its development as an entity. And once a certain amount of the particles were amassed, the black mass finally attained sentience and a human-like consciousness. Due to this, the entity obtained the ability to harness memories from dead through the particles it has gathered, effectively analyzing any memory of the living beings that once came before it. The entity then began to feel and act like humans do, slowly absorbing and manifesting the best qualities of the human race. The reason as to why it manifested human consciousness is due to the fact that humans are the smartest and the most sentient beings to ever exist. Although humans are claimed to be intellectual and capable of certain emotions and personalities, the entity has certain difficulties when it comes to the "assimilation aspect" of its transformation.

It wandered the earth cluelessly, not knowing what to do, for it has yet to grasp the concept of life on earth. And thousands of years then passed, the entity was exposed to enough stimulus to finally act like a normal human being and live amongst their ranks as if it was part of their race. Once every few days since its full assimilation, it began to feel emotions on a first-hand basis, unlike the emotions within the memories it analyzed. Thus, over the span of 200 years, it finally became human.

As it knew of its ability to use memories as a source of information, it began dig deeper in order to find its true origins, and when it found out, It was somewhat, amused, of how it came to be. It continued to live among humanity until 1944, the height of the second world war in The Frontrooms . The all-knowing entity known as GOD, decided to pull the entity out of The Frontrooms and placed it within the backrooms. The entity never understood the purpose of such divine intervention and nor did it react physically at all. And as time went by, the entity began to become accustomed within The Backrooms where it roams the levels seeking for knowledge among the wanderers due to the fact that it can no longer harness D-particles within the reality it resides in.

The First Immortal Slasher

Cain... I sense your presence... I know you're here...

Do not leave, I know that I am what you fear...

If you believe that I'm familiar, you'd be mistaken...

I am not him, and your sins are not forgiven...

I don't know how you ended up here, but welcome nonetheless...

This is a vast, never-ending reality... Let it all fill you in about the rest...

I know there will be conflict... We'll be at each other's throats...

But there is no mercy when it comes to murderers... so ye abandon all hopes...

Know him well...
...

They now see you for what you truly are...

Those brutal actions won't get you far...

How long till you break? Only time will tell...

God once let you walk the earth... Now Welcome to Hell!
