I - Overview

Firesalt, also known as "Cinder Crystal", is a perpetually glowing anomalous crystal found mostly within cave-like or dilapidated levels, which can prove to be a valuable resource if used effectively. However, due to Firesalt constantly remaining at a temperature of approximately 500°C, as well as it being extremely flammable and volatile, handling it carries a plethora of risk and dangers.

Being extremely brittle, Firesalt is quite vulnerable to cracking due to blunt damage, which produces and unique reaction. When broken, a small spark of heat is produced at the area of impact, creating a chain reaction which results in the Firesalt crystal violently exploding, with most small crystals producing a blast force equivalent to that of a hand grenade.

II - Uses

Due to its combustive properties, Firesalt is an extremely effective weapon against Smilers, and the majority of other entities. Additionally, due to its heat-based ectoentropic properties, Firesalt can also be used as a source of heat within a cold levels and as a method of quickly boiling food.

Furthermore, Firesalt has also been historically used to create a massive amount of other anomalous items, listed below:

Firesalt Flashlight

The Firesalt Flashlight is a device which uses the constant bright light Firesalt gives off in order to make a flashlight which lacks the need for any external power source to operate. In order to prevent damage to the flashlight due to the heat of Firesalt, the crystal itself is contained within a metal container with one piece of glass allowing light to escape the flashlight.

Firesteel

Firesteel is an anomalous alloy composed of Firesalt and Iron, made by grinding up Firesalt crystals into a fine dust and putting them into molten metal and mixing the two, resulting in the creation of Firesteel when the mixture finally cools down and solidifies.

Although Firesteel shares the same ectoentropic properties as Firesalt, it is much more durable, making it an ideal choice as a material to use in various weapons, often including swords, knives, and even special bullets made out of Firesteel.
