Description

A picture of a bottle of Achrophiline within an unknown level.

Achrophiline

Object 22, colloquially known as "Achrophiline" or "Lavender Solution," is a relatively uncommon medicinal substance found in many levels of the Backrooms. Achrophiline is commonly described as a purple-colored liquid; however, the purple shades of Achrophiline will change depending on the level it is located on. Wanderers also describe a foam-like substance on the surface of the liquid. Achrophiline is extremely flammable, easily catching fire due to items such as chemicals, heat, and fire itself. Having Achrophiline within the human bloodstream causes a variety of positive symptoms. They include, but are not limited to, diseases dissipating away quicker, improved breathing and digestion, and a longer and more efficient attention span, among others. Achrophiline comes in various forms, including glass bottles and syringes. It is not recommended to use Achrophiline in glass cups or bottles, as the substance is not appropriate for drinking; Achrophiline may cause 1st-degree burns in the drinker's mouth. Many wanderers who drank it have described its taste as "feces, gasoline, lemons, and pepper as a cherry on top." It is unknown why these burns happen; however, it is believed that they are mainly caused by the contact of Achrophiline and human saliva, which would activate Achrophiline's hidden acidic properties for a short amount of time. While injecting Achrophiline into one's bloodstream is far more recommended, giving many more positive effects compared to drinking the substance, due to currently unknown reasons, injecting will not cause burns, as long as the injection is not in one's mouth.

Purified Achrophiline within an undetermined level.

Purify

In 2010, scientists attempted to remove several chemicals within Achrophiline in order to create a new Achrophiline that would replace the original; however, the project failed, resulting in what is now known as "Purified Achrophiline." It has no nutritional value or nutrients, resulting in purified Achrophiline being worthless. Despite that, this variation became popular during the Flicker as a stress reliever and addiction. In 2022, Purified Achrophiline sales fell by almost zero, with companies known for selling it going bankrupt. Wanderers commonly describe purified Achrophiline as a cyan, foamless liquid with a taste commonly associated with flavored water. During the Flicker, the Auto Nexus and many other groups were in search of Achrophiline. This caused the groups, mainly the Auto Nexus, to attack other groups, invade and scavenge levels, and eliminate entities. Groups attempted to recreate Achrophiline, and as previously mentioned, Achrophiline would be sold within metal cans, glass and plastic bottles, and mainly, metal bottles. The metal bottles were composed of silver, colored with lavender paint appropriate for metal. The Auto Nexus specialized in selling Achrophiline in levels, creating a sub-company named "Achros Inc." While exploring Level 986, Auto Nexus explorers found shelves and wooden crates filled with Achrophiline. The Auto Nexus quickly established outposts in the area. The Auto Nexus then sold bottles of Achrophiline within freezers to groups and became a relatively strong group, then declined after the Flicker.

Choc Achrophiline

Achrophiline is sold with many diverse variations, such as different coloring and taste modifications, among others. Modified Achrophiline has different effects compared to the original substance, depending on the flavor. Chocolate-flavored Achrophiline, for example, gives more energy to the user and causes extreme thirst and dehydration. Wanderers mostly say that flavoring and coloring Achrophiline is a very difficult task, with the process taking at least 13 hours. If the flavoring and coloring process goes poorly, the Achrophiline will gain several new properties. Such as stickiness, an odd sweet taste, quicker expiration time, and chemical reactions, among others.

Achrophiline, when mixed with several rare chemicals, will become transparent and highly explosive. A purple-colored D.N.A.-shaped structure, named "Achrophiline Aura," will slowly appear in the center of the Achrophiline. This chemically modified Achrophiline may immediately explode when in contact with any other liquid. The explosion of this modified Achrophiline is presumably 10 tons of dynamite. After 30 minutes, the Achrophiline Aura in the center will dissipate, making the substance less explosive and less chemically active, unless the ambient's temperature is high, generally defined as 30° Celsius (86° Fahrenheit.) at the minimum. A toxic gas has a small chance to be liberated after the Achrophiline Aura dissipates; this gas generally kills an average human in three weeks.

Usage

Achrophiline is mostly used for medicinal purposes, helping wanderers recover from physical and mental illnesses. Although it is used as a key ingredient in many recipes for medicine and drinks, Achrophiline is commercialized by many groups, such as the Auto Nexus, in order to gain money. Achrophiline is also used as a weapon, as it has the property of burning one's mouth. Achrophiline is also used in various techniques, such as chemistry. The Auto Nexus uses Achrophiline to create bio-weapons and Rosa Kur. This substance is used for various studies, related or not to Achrophiline. These studies vary drastically from one another, from tests to remove Achrophiline's acidic properties to many strange, unrelated experiments. Achrophiline is capitalized by Auto Nexus and sold out to many other groups and wanderers at various levels.

Locations

Achrophiline, despite being relatively uncommon, is found in desks, closets, freezers, and fridges within decontamination, surgery, testing, and laboratory rooms within levels such as Level 14, Lab 56, Level 16, Level 301, Level 385, and Level 829, among others. It comes in various different forms, such as cardboard boxes, plastic bottles, glass cups, and seringes. Achrophiline is commonly encountered in areas close to former Auto Nexus outposts as well as current outposts. The Auto Nexus, as of the current year, still sells Achrophiline, which may occasionally be found being sold by the Auto Nexus' merchants in levels with a generally large population but low quality and conditions of living.

Le Forumn posd TWO

The discovery and origins of Achrophiline are currently unknown, with logs, files, archives, forums, and posts related to the substance being lost prior to the Flicker. Many believe that Achrophiline was discovered in Level 14 or Level 16 somewhere between 1967 and 2002. Although many forums dispute its discovery, Achrophiline was likely discovered in one of the levels mentioned above in the "Locations" section. The earliest evidence of Achrophiline in BACK-NET were several posts, images, and videos on unpopular websites and forums, such as Backchat, among others.
