Description
Base State
This object is a blue octagonal plate made out of an unknown material. The plate is 1.6 feet in width and length, and 0.4 feet in height. The material is hard to destroy and heavy. The object itself weighs 10 pounds. The corners of the plate are imperfect and slightly crooked, described by some wanderers as looking like "somebody had carelessly glued them together". In either of the 2 states, the object emits a 420 hz hum near entities that gets louder if the entity gets closer, this property can't be used as an entity detector though, as it also gets louder when a wanderer gets close to the object, but it can be used to find the object when you are near it. The humming also makes this object risky to carry around near hostile entities as it will alert the entities, most Partygoers and other intelligent hostile entities have also figured out that if they hear the noise that means a wanderer carrying the object is nearby and will try to find the source of the noise. Carrying the object for long periods of time (multiple days or weeks straight) causes sanity to decrease much faster, this is most likely to be caused by the 420 hz hum, a re-creation of the 420 hz hum can be found here. In either of the 2 states, the object has a chance of disappearing when noclipping, it is most likely that the object is transported The Void to other levels than the wanderer carrying it, so it is advised not to make unnecessary noclips to avoid loosing it, the chance of this occurring is doubled in unstable Clusters. In either of the 2 states, the object has an EXTREEMLEY low chance of disappearing at any moment, the chance of this happening is so low that 99% of humans do not have the brain capacity to comprehend how miniscule it is. It is most likely that this happens because the object is prone to noclipping, the chance of this occurring is increased tenfold (which is still unbelievably rare) in unstable Clusters. In the object's base state, noclipping into the object will transport you 1 to 500 levels higher, the object will stay in the level where you noclipped into it of course, this can only be used to travel to integer levels, if used inside Sub-Levels or Secret Levels this will always send you to The Void, and if you are inside a negative level this can't be used to travel to positive levels, this has a 50% chance of sending you to The Void in unstable Clusters.
Expanded State
After being touched for 60 to 10 seconds the plate expands in height and turns into a pole/stick. When the object transforms it will emit a high pitched screeching noise that lasts for the duration of the transformation. After transformation the plate's width and length remain the same, but the height is increased to 4.6 feet. The weight remains at 10 pounds which means that no matter is being added to the object, instead its molecules are spreading out in a certain direction. The object will return to it's base state after 60 to 10 seconds of not being touched. In the object's expanded state, noclipping into the object will transport you 1 to 500 levels lower, the object will stay in the level where you noclipped into it of course, this can only be used to travel to integer levels, if used inside Sub-Levels or Secret Levels this will always send you to The Void, and if you are inside a positive level this can't be used to travel to negative levels, this has a 50% chance of sending you to The Void in unstable Clusters.
Uses
This object is commonly used in it's expanded state as a weapon because of its weight and hard material. When swung with enough force it has the ability to shatter a human pelvis. But because if its size and weight it is hard to handle in combat. Because of its rarity though, average wanderers usually don't seek out this object and use other, more efficient weapons instead. Some wanderers also use the object to escape from danger in an emergancy by noclipping into it. Due to its rarity it is also sought after by collectors and used as a high-value currency in trading. The first and only confirmed transaction using this item was between M.E.G. and the Backroom Colonists, M.E.G. had given the Backroom Colonists 1 Blue Octagon in return for 1 tablespoon of Super Almond Water, this transaction happened on june 11th of 1982, the value of the object has gone down since then. There have been many unconfirmed cases of this item being traded since then. Some large groups of wanderers such as M.E.G., the Backroom Colonists and more are currently trying to find a way to make an alarm system using the object's 420 hz hum using liquid silence, but the object can and is still used as a less advanced alarm system, by placing the object nearby and doing something that doesn't involve moving closer to it, if the hum gets louder that means that an entity or wanderer is closer to it than you are, but this method is inefficient and therefore rarely used.
Locations
The object can be found on the floor in Level 1157, and Level 1932 about as commonly as Almond Water can be found in Level 0. It can also be found in The Hub, but extremely rarley, about 1 of this object spawns every 1000 square miles in The Hub.
