(Note: This is a fanmade entity)
Ravagers are a mechanical entity found on most levels of the backrooms
They are black colored steel entities. Usually possessing a red mechanical eye with several hydraulic lines and adapters stemming from the center where the eye is located. Some may even have discarded electronics embedded inside the eye itself. They have a tendency to look at any moving objects, Whether it be Humans, Entities, active Ravagers, or vehicle Ravagers. They are highly aggressive towards non-organic sentient beings (I.E Counter Entities) as they act on their own instinct to kill and control these types of creatures.
They are very cunning and intelligent entities with a hate towards anything organic. Usually the rooted ones lure in other entities or humans using speech from killed humans. When the victims get close enough, They are killed on the spot by the active Ravagers and dragged away.

(Possible?) Origin
Picture of a rooted Ravager. It cannot move due to it being rooted so it must spread using it's electronic pathogen. (Note: The drone used to capture this image stopped responding to inputs after 2 minutes of being in the stronghold.)
Their origin is largely unknown due to the highly territorial nature of the bigger colonies. Making manned and un-manned expeditions somewhat unfeasible. There are some theories to their origins, but most range from slightly incorrect to flat-out wrong. The most believable origin is said that they might've crossed over from an entirely different universe due to the nature of the biggest Ravager stronghold, But even this is highly unlikely.
Types
- Rooted: The basic Ravager type that is quite rare in the early levels. They are responsible for the creation of active Ravagers because of their pathogen that they release from their red eye.
- Active: These types are formed from small electronic devices like Computer terminals, Mobile phones, Flashlights, and even lamps in the ceiling that got afflicted with the electronic pathogen. They are aggressive hunters that will attempt to track down their previous owner and kill them (In rare cases however, They will use their cloaking device to shimmer out of sight and leave the person alone). If they did not have a previous owner or they have killed the current one. They will go to the nearest Ravager stronghold, Regardless of distance. If they are incapacitated and not destroyed, They will root themselves to the ground and become a rooted Ravager.
- Copycats, Fakers, or Impostors: These types of Ravagers are nearly indistinguishable from normal human beings. They can bleed like a normal human but their "blood" is actually hydraulic fluid. They are hard to find as Ravagers are more prone to use brute force than stealth. They follow a "Kill and Replace" principal, killing off lone wanderers and assuming their shape and features, down to the way their teeth are shaped. Good ways to determine if someone is a copycat is by blood testing or checking their eyes by putting them in a dark room. Copycat Ravagers cannot force their eyes to stop glowing, they can only dim their eyelight. This action can severely impair their vision. This is why most copycat Ravagers pretend they are partially blind.
- Vehicle: These types of Ravagers are incredibly dangerous and are formed from the husks of abandoned vehicles. They are very fast and heavy Ravagers that can tear down buildings and destroy walls in city levels with ease. They also have a stronger cloaking device than active Ravagers which can last up to an hour if activated. Most of these types of Ravagers are located near huge strongholds, Which is a fair warning to anyone trying to explore certain parts of the city levels. They usually are outfitted with a set of Autocannons, Machine guns, and in one instance, a Rail gun. These types should be avoided at costs.
- Unknown (Possibly Leader): This type of Ravager is largely unknown as it was only seen once during the 9/28/21 incident that occurred on Level ∝. It had some form of cognitohazardous attack as the people who were there viewed it, went mad, and killed each other. Survivors of the incident reported it being 60 meters in height, having a humanoid shape (Accounts vary) and being covered in red eyes of varying sizes.
Known allies
Their only known ally is called The Infected (Also known as Entity 1143).
They will attempt to turn anything mechanical into them. Making them a not very well liked and dangerous entity in the backrooms.
Strongholds
Picture of the lower parts of one of the biggest lairs (Located on Level 5002). Showing one of the Ravager eyes along with an unknown set of wires. Image was captured by Drone MD-13 (Owl) before contact was suddenly lost. (Presumably by Autocannon fire)
In some of the bigger Ravager strongholds (I.E Ravager's Foothold. One of the biggest. Presumed to be infinite in size) they have high-powered weapons (Mainly Autocannons) that can tear apart anything that strolls into their lair with great efficiency. It is best advised to avoid these types of strongholds at all costs as nothing has ever returned from these types of strongholds alive.
Smaller strongholds possess great rewards as the active Ravagers usually gather supplies to build weapons, But haven't had time to use the supplies to make them. Caution is advised in raiding these spots however as they are still probably lurking around the place or setting up for an ambush.
Experiment logs:
Test 7/30/21
Items: One Nokia 3310 3g phone, One piece of a dead Ravager's hydraulic lines.
Point of test: Test the infectivity of the Ravager's pathogen.
Results: Phone took on a tripedal crustacean-esque appearance with 3 whip-like wires on the top of the device. It appeared to be blind as it started attacking anything that produced noises, including the lights above the creature. It was quite hard to destroy since the "body" of the Ravager was extremely resistant to blunt force weapons. It was eventually terminated by gunfire after it tried to attack one of the people sent in to terminate it.
Test 8/12/21
Items: One Masterlock padlock, One small unloaded handgun (Chambered in 9mm), One steel rod, One piece of a dead Ravager's hydraulic lines.
Point of test: How simple of a device can the Ravager's pathogen infect?
Results: The handgun and padlock were affected. The padlock split apart into 9mm cylindrical shapes which became inert after a few seconds. The handgun that now had 4 basic arthropod legs, picked up the cylinders and loaded the gun's chamber before it could be stopped.
It shot at the ceiling and knocked out the lights when the door was being opened. When the guards attempted to look for the Ravager using their flashlights, they noticed a hole in the ceiling 9 inches wide. Ravager is presumed missing. Inspection of the rudimentary bullets lodged in the ceiling showed that the way the gun fired was by using a red oil-like substance as propellant.
Expedition logs:
Log 8/30/21:
<T+00:01:27> Drone MD-14 "Raven" enters one of the burned holes left by one of the dead rooted Ravagers, transporting it inside one of the Strongholds. A slick oil-like substance obscured the camera for a few seconds before being blown off by the drone's rotors.
<T+00:04:50> The drone lands on the ground of the stronghold to avoid being spotted by the Autocannons. Video feed shows the ground is moving like a pit of snakes. Then it solidified into solid plates. Collecting a sample of the metal was difficult due to the drone not being able to cut the metal efficiently.
<T+00:05:11> Abruptly, there is a red flash on the camera feed that blinds the view momentarily. After a few seconds, the view returns, revealing that several gigantic eyes on the wall had suddenly flickered on. Staring at a black metal walkway nearby. Several active Ravagers were seen walking across the walkway holding the remains of multiple human and backroom creature cadavers, these cadavers were then thrown into the black wires at the end of the bridge where they disappeared below the surface.
<T+00:14:08> Drone travels deep inside the stronghold for 4 kilometres. Video feed notes the appearance of several more odd structures. Most notably an alter with pancake shaped device floating above it. The drone passes by a number of posters, billboards, and other signage - however, all words and iconography on the signs are burned, melted, or in a language that does not exist within our current understanding.
<T+00:18:36> Camera feed begins to play faint sounds of static as it gets close to an ominous black monolith with several openings. The size of the monolith is hard to determine as it stretches past the blue mist and into the sky. The drone passes through one the openings and heads inside the dark monolith.
<T+00:18:55> Static slightly increases in volume. Drone emerges in a dark and wide area with several paths leading to a core-like structure. Drone does not respond to inputs by the controller and instead moves by its own accord. It floats above the core and moves onto a platform that moves it up into a corridor. Set onto the floor of the corridor is what is evidently a television set. The television has the same shape and dimensions to match a typical CRT television from the late 1970s. As the drone approaches, it turns on.
<T+00:22:31> The television shows a series of sounds and images, including clips of asteroids floating through space, large networks of massive supercomputers, crowds of people going about their daily activities, the drone itself hovering in front of the television screen, and an endless dimly-lit corridor. It is to be noted that the drone appears to be covered in the same hydraulic lines as the active and vehicle Ravagers, along with a red eye adorning the top of the drone.
<T+00:37:09> The camera notes the presence of a new hallway to the other side of the corridor that was not present before. As the drone approaches, faint sounds of mechanical operation, such as electrical beeps and running motors, become faintly audible. Just as the drone is about to enter the hallway, the drone stops itself and turns back to the TV. For approximately two hours, the drone continuously attempts to enter the newly made hallway, with the same event occurring each time.
<T+02:32:32> After two hours, The drone approaches the hallway, and is this time not impeded by itself. The hallway in question is an endless, brightly-lit corridor with yellow wallpaper and no exits or side doors not unlike Level 0 of the backrooms. Fluorescent lights are positioned on the ceiling at regular intervals. However some appear to be broken or flickering. After a few minutes of travel, the walls are covered in the metallic black plating with the fluorescent lights replaced with Ravager eyes.
<T+04:01:50> Dark wisps are emitted from the lamps, swarming together and flowing through the air. The audio is interspersed with intense high-frequency sound; when the sound is emitted, the video feed suddenly pixelates and shows nauseating patterns of vivid colors. A wailing sound could be heard down the corridor approximately 400 meters away which continues for 2 days.
<T+51:37:04> The sound of screaming has reached approximately 150 Db, intense enough to cause rupturing of the eardrums. Suddenly, The red eyes in the hallway all go out, leaving the drone in complete darkness. The screaming ceases as well, rendering the audio feed completely silent except for the sound of the drone's motors.
<T+78:23:30> The drone activates its searchlight and shines it into the hallway. The searchlight itself appears to be tinged a red color as the drone navigates the hallway. Finally finding an exit to the corridor to another chamber. However, this chamber contained several active and vehicle Ravagers, Apparently they were waiting for the drone to get here.
<T+78:25:53> The Ravagers then file out of the chamber through a door. The drone follows them without needing any input from the operators and meet what appears to be the humanoid from Incident 9/28/21 towering above them. The Ravagers grab a piece of a mirror and show the camera of the drone what it looks like to the operators. The drone is completely covered in hydraulic wires and the white plastic is tarnished to a black color. The camera feed cuts out as the drone smashes the mirror piece with one of it's tentacle-like wires and is presumed lost.
Incident 9/28/21
On Level ∝ during a sweep of the airport. A massive dark-skinned humanoid (Presumably 60 meters in height) with black tendrils was discovered off in the white void. It was staring at the people who were at the airport with it's many red eyes on it's body. Gazing back at it brought upon madness and hunger. In less than 5 minutes everyone at the airport killed each other during the time it stood there. Hours later it walked back through the mist and vanished. Nobody knows what this creature was, But it could have something to do with the Ravagers.
