Entity Hazard: Class 5

》Habitat: Majority

Description

Rushers are dangerous entities that are most known for their speed. They are very fast, capable of going 300 miles per hour, but their speed is dependent on the environment they are in. For example, in an open environment like Level 10, the Rusher will run at full speed. In a more compact level however (much harder to find one here), they will reduce their speed greatly, to avoid unnecessary crashing. They have armor that covers almost everywhere except a large chink on their stomach, and a large circular hole on its head, with a glowing red eye. Their legs are strong and muscular, particularly the hind legs. They have 3-toed, clawed feet that are very good for gripping terrain. Rushers vary in color, their armor is always bronze, silver, gold, and rarely, diamond in color. Rushers are large creatures, their average dimensions being 2 meters long and 1 meter tall.

Behavior

Rushers normally travel alone, and are very fast. They can be spotted on almost every level, but are much easier to see in open levels. They are aggressive by nature, and will attack any entity they see. They are easy to aggravate, but they are not stupid; they will normally avoid routes that they aren't familiar with, or will watch corners in case they run into a trap. It is unknown how they feed, as all recorded kills were by physical impact. When they sleep, they will lay down on the chink in their armor and tuck their legs under them. Their eye will slowly close, until the hole in its head is simply empty in appearance.

Befriending A Rusher

Apparently, it is in fact possible to befriend a rusher. Rushers are indeed aggressive, but if they are injured, they are basically helpless. Choosing to help them might gain their trust, or/and respect. This does not mean you are taming the rusher. Make no mistake, you are equals, so treat them as such. They will probably run away. If you are in need however, they may help you. If you're tired they may give you a ride. A rusher's armor is impenetrable, but it is also not uncomfortable to sit on. You will have no problem staying on their back, even at full speed.

Do not befriend every rusher you see. Even if they are injured, most will probably try to attack you anyway.

Biology

The average rusher is about 2 meters long and 1 meter tall, though many have grown much larger than this. Rushers also have bulky bodies, strong legs, and sharp claws. They are covered almost completely in armor, except for an eyehole and a chink at their stomach. Their head has a large hole that is usually seen with a large glowing eye, they also have 1-3 horns, depending on their age. As mentioned, they can reach speeds of up to 300 miles per hour, and their clawed feet enable them to climb irregular angles with ease. Riding a rusher, you will notice something strange: You will not fall off no matter what, as long as you are sitting on their armor. This is a strange property that make rushers excellent mounts, if you have befriended one.

When fighting a rusher, it is best to try to attack its eye, or its stomach, as these are the only parts where you can harm a rusher effectively. However, you are better off hiding from it, as rushers are excellent at turning and stopping abruptly.

Rushers also have a few anomalous and unique abilities.

  • Light Rush - The rusher will travel at the speed of light for a short period of time. Rushers use this as a last resort, and not all of them have learned how to do it. It consumes a lot of their energy as well, and few rushers will remain conscious. They are capable of travelling to other levels with this method.
  • The Light - The rusher's red eye will become much brighter, and it as similar function as that of a flashlight. Rusher's use this to see in the dark, or to disorient its target.
  • Whistle - The rusher whistles. Apparently, rushers find this amusing and calming; they may do it when feeling a significant amount of anxiety, stress, or excitement.

Trivia

  • A group of rushers is called a rush.
  • Rushers understand English, Filipino, Chinese, and Spanish.
  • A rusher was spotted 3x larger than an average rusher with a large, diamond horn. This is called a Guardian Rusher. It is very rare, and can only be seen running around cavern levels.
  • Rushers have never seen a Smiler or Frowner, as their eye is bright enough to scare them away.
