Entity 294, Server Boxes
Aggressiveness: 5/5: This entity is highly aggressive and will seek out its prey, purely for the annihilation of said victim.
Rarity: 5/5: Entity-294 is extremely common (but becoming increasingly rare due to The Corrupted Amalgamation beginning to threaten this entity species with extinction, which may take a long time) in it’s home region, “The Server Room”, although these entities are considered a rare sight and are far & few between in the Backrooms.
Intelligence: 5/5: Entity-294 utilizes a complex level of artificial intelligence, capable of mapping the most optimal routes to catch or ambush their prey.
Pritoria Index: 5/5: Encounters with this entity are to be avoided at all costs and are considered to be a death sentence, with only the most avid wanderers capable of escape.
Description:
Server Boxes are in appearance, a server box, with an overlay of a metal coat protecting it from damage. They lay on shelves in The Server Room, sleeping. When angered, the entity will transform into a robotic spider, with 4 legs instead to 8, with a laser attached to its back, used for long ranged attacks. Their legs are very sharp, and can cut things like titanium with relative ease. They also have been recorded to break their home level at times when chasing wanderers. The entity has no eyes, but has been said to have echo location. The entity will know when Wifi is being used, and will run to wanderers who are using it. They use the other 4 legs they don't use to make the abdomen. They have wires attached to inside the abdomen to make sure it doesn't fall apart, which is protected by glass as hard as steel.
The way they do this is because, well, you should already know this. They are connected to The Backrooms Network, notifying which type of Wifi is being used, on what level its being used on as well as data on the wanderer in form of a script sheet. This script sheet tells the entity everything they need to know about the wanderer (where they used to live, full name, how they got into the Backrooms, etc.) making Wifi some sort of doxing device for this entity specifically. Once the Wifi trial has ended, the Server Box will then begin a hunt either by themselves, or in a pack of 13-100 units at a time.
The harder the level to get to, the harder it gets for the entity to hunt you down. You will know (hopefully) when the entity is hunting you down, either in the form of an EAS scenario, or by a notification on any other electronic device nearby the wanderer. This has a 1 in 109,283,909 chance of happening, and when it does, it makes other entities scram from that location, as well as scaring the wanderer. What the notifications or the EAS scenario is trying to say is unclear as it is written in an unknown language that still hasn't been decoded. It is also unknown where these come from. Could it be from the entity, or is it from anomalous means? This question maybe never answered for years to come.
Behaviors:
The behaviors of the Server Box are, odd. They sleep until Wifi is used, and will keep going even if that Wifi network is no longer in use. The entity, while attacking, will run towards its target, and begin to slice open the skin of said wanderer. If they ever get stuck in the ground, they will resort to the blaster on their back, and fire blue lasers that can break through walls. The only way this can be explained is due to their motherboard. The motherboard has excessive wiring, with some of the wires all over the place, causing aggression, and doxing properties. As to where these properties formed, it is unclear.
Even upon inspection by the M.E.G, they couldn't find anything about the properties.
People have speculated this was due to how the entity manifested. This theory is the most likely to play out, but has one big flaw, did it manifest into thin air, or was it built? This question invalidates this theory, making it impossible to indicate the exact origin of this effect. The entity has been recorded to claw at other Server Boxes who gets in the way of missions to slaughter wanderers, and have been seen to tear each other apart until one particle remains. This behavior is said to be from the wiring on the motherboard, as stated before, this makes the entity aggressive.
Biology:
They have a motherboard, and a skeleton that is made from human bone. It has no eyes or nose, and a wire frame capable of effects no other entity is capable of emitting. The circuit board is their brain, but has no other artificial origins recorded. It has been said that the abundance of wires on the motherboard is the nervous system of the creature, as it has been seen to be connected to the circuit board. A chip in the entity has been found by M.E.G Junior operative Aaron Miller, with, upon inspection, assumed to be a sonar chip, allowing the entity to see through walls. This chip has also been noted to be from a Wi-Fi router, allowing access to The Backrooms Network.
Because of this chip in particular, the entity can take advantage of it, using the chip as a sonar for pathing, and hunting. This method has never failed the entity, deeming it to work at a 100% efficient strategy used for generations to come. This also allows the entity to communicate with other Server Boxes, to plan the most precise route to the victim they have been stalking for god knows how long, and can continue for a prolonged period of time, if said victim were to run away upon noticing the entity in their vicinity. The entity has been demonstrated to have a structure harder then titanium, more durable then diamond, and even is less brittle then alloyed titanium, making this entity challenging to take down. This special metal has been called Repolserum, which can resist extreme heat, water, and extra electrical charges. Any excess charge will be able to enhance the entities abilities for 10 minutes to 1 hour at the very least.
Repolserum is its own special material. The most notable findings of it is in Level 618230029372. It is strong enough to resist almost anything besides nukes and supernovas. Nukes will be able to put major damage into the metal. This metal has been known to be one of the strongest metals to ever exist, with weaponry like Godly Almond Ingot swords breaking upon contact with the metal. The weak spot has been seen inside the entity in terms of the memory chip, used to store data into the entity. Being mildly vulnerable to explosions, you can make holes big enough to kill the entity on sight. The M.E.G struggles in doing this task however. It will take at least 10 grenades exploding all at once to make a hole big enough to reveal the memory chip.
All you need to do now is extract it and the entity is no more. The recipe for making Repolserum is Alloyed Titanium, Copper, Alloyed Iron, Poolstone, some type of 'god metal', and Almond Ingots. Alloyed Titanium and Alloyed Iron became a common ore in the "Cave of Multi Ore", forming naturally beside each other, creating this as long as copper, an extremely small amount of Metal of Youth, poolstone, and almond ingots are in the vicinity of the two alloys. It can also be formed from an essence known as Almond Rust. Once alloyed titanium is exposed to this residue, it will convert into Repolserum. Due to the high amounts of Almond Rust in The Server Room, every instance of this entity has the new metal placed on it. This process can take weeks, months, or even years. The amount of Almond Rust needed for this process to convey is about 19-70 kiloliters. The essence doesn't effect the atmosphere. This metal is effective in dealing with EMP's, however, because of this resilience, it could damage a couple of functions the entity possesses.
The entity also has a smaller, more vulnerable, but even more hostile variant that takes the form of a phone rather then an entire Server Box. They are unable to connect to The Backrooms Network, but will seek and destroy anything it can make out as a pest of The Backrooms. Their robotic size isn't changed. The biggest thing about this variant is that it's faster, stronger, more efficient at killing targets, but weaker due to not having the Repolserum coated around their body. The metal this variant is birthed with is either Aluminum, Copper, or very rarely, Alloyed Cascadian. This variant was used as some sort of weapon by The M.E.G. The M.E.G plans to use this weapon against wanderers in general, and cause chaos through out The Backrooms. They were kept at 567,129 bases the M.E.G had, which were all destroyed, killing about 16 million people. Two instances of this variant are kept in custody for The Crimson Wanderer as aid if the battle was unfair, or the entity suffered fatal injury. One instance had a blue case, while the other had a black case.
Discovery:
The entity was discovered by an unknown traveler that entered the long halls of racks, known to this day as The Server Room. The entity was quit dormant until the wanderer used the Wifi in the level. This caused every instance of the entity to jump out of the racks and brutally attacked the wanderer, leaving nothing but the human skeleton behind, almost as if it was instant. This lead to ones of the entities greatest and most threatening behaviors to erupt. It wasn't discovered until an M.E.G junior researcher saw a war happen with multiple instances fighting to the death. With almost nothing to lose, the researcher has exited the level to get into contact with the M.E.G operatives. He specifically said this.

Begin log Thomas Williams: This is Junior researcher Thomas Williams. I was in an unknown level that looked like a server room, and saw these fucking creeps tearing each other to shreds. The racks were completely empty too. Aaron Miller: Ok Thomas, it appears you have run into a Server Box. A fairly dangerous entity we are still troublesome to deal with, as more manifest every day. Thomas Williams: Manifest? Can you elaborate further details? Aaron Miller: You see, its not easy as pie. We are still figuring out their bio, as we literally have nothing to suit our needs to do so. Sorry Thomas. Thomas Williams: (sign) If only our day couldn't be any worse... Aaron Miller: I know what it is like man, but this is serious business we are talking about. If we don't get this done, the M.E.G will send Counter Entities to exterminate us. You want to see her again don't you now? Thomas Williams: (gulps in fear) Yes boss... Aaron Miller: Good. Investigate the wreckage with caution. Thomas Williams: Holy shit... This is on a whole 'other level I am telling ya. Bodies upon bodies of these things, ugh. I wish I never had to investigate the area, it just gives me the creeps. Aaron Miller: Eh. I never really think this place is dangerous or anything like that, like I mean come on, it's a server room. Seems safe enough right? Thomas Williams: AAAA- (cuts to black) Aaron Miller Thomas? THOMAS? What the hell happened? General Burton: Aaron, AARON, we are under attack, WE ARE UNDER ATTACK! Aaron Miller: By what General? General Burton: Robotic spider things. Many solders are dying out here and we need your help ASAP! Aaron Miller: Ok ok, I will be there in a fe- General Burton: NOT LATER, NOW! Aaron Miller: Fine, but you better be paying me to do this. General Burton: Good, now grab your weapon, and blow these things up, or I will let you be a victim of one of these things. Trust me, or aren't going to like it. Aaron Miller: LIKE I HAVE A FUCKING CHOICE GOD! End of log |

From that day onward, the entity broke into other wanderers hiding spots bringing up to 5,000 casualties every year. This is just a rough estimate, and it could be completely false. Due to how many colonies actually use the network in The Backrooms, there is no telling how many kills these things can actually get. In more specific terms, colonies and outposts like The M.E.G is the only colony to use Wifi the most almost as if their lives depended on it. To the entity, they are easy prey, as they NEED wifi to communicate with other bases the M.E.G has set up all across The Backrooms. The M.E.G has no idea on how to stop these things, let alone keep users safe from death, as more casualties are being preformed by this entity specifically. The only known entity that can stop it, or at least has an idea of how to preform it, is Entity 74, also known as The Corrupted Amalgamation. Getting the information needed from Entity 74 might be a hassle however, as not only you need to summon it, but you also have to confront it in order to obtain this information.
Do's and Don'ts:
Do:
- Get to levels that have a great firewall
- Run if you see or hear this entity at all
- Let big fights from these entities happen
Don't
- Use the Wifi in The Server Room
- Get low to the ground when the entity is near
- Interfere with big fights from the entities
- Try to burn them
- Splash water on them
- Give them an extra charge
- Make noise when you hear metal clinging
Survival Guide:
Survival against a Server Box is no easy task. The entity can be avoided however if you are following simple easy steps, or participated in the Server Survival course. One thing to keep in mind is that they are easy to identify, as they make metal clinging noises when approaching near. If you hear these noises, one out of two things need to be done. You can either run away from that location, or you could stay in that spot, and be silent until the entity leaves the premises. If the entity ever uses its sonar, run and hide. Make absolute sure you are far away from any noise, and that you don't make any sound yourself. Using Wifi in levels have a good firewall has a decreased chance of wanderers to get doxed on the spot. Use this to your advantage. By doing this, you can exit the level you are currently in to the next or previous for a major head start, as the firewall slows down the doxing process.
Unfortunately, not all levels have this property. Especially its home level. Using Wifi in any level without a firewall at all will make you doxed in 2 seconds. A hunting team of 13-100 Server Boxes will track you down, going from level until they reach their target. Since they are on level ground whenever they get stuck, getting low to the ground is a no go. Run if they entity ever gets stuck in the ground. If you ever try to burn the entity, or fry its systems, it will attack the wanderer who tried to do it. It is best to not do it, as it's aggression level will go over the top. If you ever try to disable their systems with an extra electrical charge, it will simply store the burst in the motherboard of the entity, boosting the entities abilities. It is recommended not to do this as the entity gains more power the more charge it can receive.
At most, its best to stay out of the entities sights, as instant aggression will cause the entity to chase it's prey nonstop until it can grab a hold of it's victims.
