Description
Smiling Haunters are the result of a Human being infected with Smiling Mercy.
Smiling Haunters are pale and tall figures that lurk near Smilers and infest the Smile Room AKA Level Smile. They lack eyeballs, a nose, or lips. Their skin is as pale as snow, and they have large tentacle-like appendages on their backs. They have three legs and appear glitchy. They are EXTREMELY hostile to anything that crosses their path.
Anything near them will be paralyzed, and will feel extreme paranoia.
Behaviors
Smiling Haunters stay near Smilers, and gather in packs to hunt and infect Wanderers. They will send out soundwaves not audible by humans when they have found a Wanderer, alerting nearby Haunters that they have found prey. Then they will open their own torso, revealing a set of horrifying teeth. Then they will either eat their prey, or try to infect the wanderer and turn it into one of them.
Smiling Haunters have superhuman strength and speed granted to them by the Smiling Mercy. They also have large tentacle-like appendages on their backs. They cause extreme paranoia to whoever is near them, no matter if the affected are entities or wanderers.
The only way to survive these Entities are to not get infected or eaten. They can also be hurt by pouring Almond Water on their Faces, causing extreme burns on their bodies to appear.

Discovery
The First time they were discovered was by a M.E.G Agent that stumbled across them while escaping a Smiler. Later that month, the M.E.G Agent dissapeared after showing severe symptoms of the Smiling Mercy.
The Smiling Mercy
A Smiling Mercy Virus under a microscope
The Smiling Mercy is a Virus that originates from the Bloodstream of the Smiling Haunters. They cause any Being that gets infected with it to slowly transform into a Smiling Haunter. The Virus is air-,water-, and skin-born. It is usually transmitted by being bitten by a Smiling Haunter. The Symptoms are as follows:
- Rashes
- Lower Blood Pressure
- Pale Skin
- Blue Marks
- Extra Appendages
- Pain
- Headaches
- Skin melting from the face
- Hallucinations
- Loss of Sanity
- Aggressiveness
- Loss of Fear
Here are the Stages:
Stage 1 - 0-12 hours after getting infected, the Infected person will feel mild headaches and blue patches/marks appearing all over their body. In this Stage, the transformation can be reversed by drinking Almond Sirup and lots of sleep.
Stage 2 - 12-50 hours after getting infected, the Infected person's skin will get paler, their headaches will get worse and they will start to hallucinate. They will feel extreme pain in their back as small lumps start to emerge on their back. Rashes will start to spread all over their body, and they will feel outbursts of mild pain. The transformation can still be reversed, with the same treatment as Stage 1.
Stage 3 - 50-72 hours after getting infected, the Infected person's symptoms that they got from the previous stages are at an all-time high. The lumps on their back will extend, and their face-skin will start to melt away, but no pain will be felt from this. They will become very aggressive, and will lose the ability to feel fear. At this point the Infected person will be too far into the infection to be saved, so all must abandon the person if you want to survive.
Stage 4 - 72+ Hours after getting infected, the Infected person is no longer human. They will be a Smiling Haunter.
Red Smiling Haunters
An Artist's depiction of a Red Smiling Haunter
These Hybrid Smiling Haunters were made when a Smiling Haunter was bred with a ???, resulting in the birth of a Red Smiling Haunter. They have their own Infection known as The Red Smile. These Hybrids are much stronger than their basic versions, having all of their capabilities buffed. Not much else is known about them, as they are EXTREMELY rare.
