Description

The Backgardens are a collection of overgrown and seemingly abandoned allotments and gardens with rotten sheds, smashed greenhouses and flowerbeds intersected by the occasional brick or concrete wall. Supplies can be frequently found on shelves in the less overgrown sheds although most of the food is in an advanced state of decay. Vegetables can also be sometimes found growing in beds and grow extremely fast so provide a reliable source of food but taste bitter and unpleasant. There is an extremely large oak tree located in a field that can be reached by walking with the intent of reaching it in any direction for around an hour. This tree grows acorns that, when touched, teleports the wanderer to a seemingly random level (giving them their popular name transportacorns). This effect works in other levels and even on most entities, leading to them being a highly prized commodity and used as both weapons and for escaping dangerous situations, this is inadvisable hower because of the possibility of ending up somewhere worse. There are no documented cases of a wanderer being transported to the frontrooms after touching an acorn but it may be possible. No entities have been encountered in The Backgardens thus far making them an attractive location for a settlement, with only the hard to access nature of this level limiting the amount of colonies.

  • Will provide ample supplies to continue on one's journey
  • Population of 200+
