The Barrier is an anomalous level.

Description
A picture of the forest sky. The Barrier's light can be seen in the distance.
Upon entering this level, you will appear in a forest lit by the Barrier's light. Sometimes you can find Lakes and Cabins within the forest. The Lake's water is drinkable, and sometimes fish can be seen swimming in the water. The Cabins are safe to live in and seem to have everything you may need, however entering one may result in a one-way ticket to Level -188. Not many entities can be found in this level because of the nature of this level, but sometimes animals from the Frontrooms can be seen wandering this level. They aren't hostile unless they are attacked or feel threatened, and all of them seem to have a blue tint.
Sometimes random events can happen in the Barrier. Sometimes a raging storm would occur, and other times the Barrier would turn into a different color. The color of the Barrier will alter the personalities and moods of living things in the forest, however those near the Barrier aren't affected for an unknown reason.
Many things are still unknown about the Barrier, but it doesn't seem to have many dangers aside from the Storm Event. One thing worth noting is traveling towards the light for a week or two will lead to The Barrier. It is said to be one of the only entrances to the Frontrooms, however it's very difficult to get past. 98.5% of wanderers who tried to get past the Barrier died, gave up, or ended up in another level of The Backrooms (Usually Level 12 or a level with bright lights). The safest way to get past the Barrier is to ask a Guardian for permission, but this will likely not work.
The Dark Forest
Traveling away from the Barrier's light will lead you to the Dark Forest. Doors to other levels can be found here, however the only door discovered leads to Level -150. Wanderers claim to have found this door because of the bright lights and the loud music. Traveling here is not recommended because you might trip and fall into The Void.
Bases, Outposts, and Communities
No known Bases, Outposts, or Communities exist on this level.
Entities
- Guardians can be found along the Barrier. They are docile unless one attacks them or attempts to cross the Barrier without permission.
- The Caretaker can be found fishing sometimes.
Entrances
- Die in Level 12 and there is a 0.1% chance that you'll end up here. This method is not recommended
- Noclip into the ground of The End and there is a 10% chance you'll end up here. This is the safest and easiest method.
- Fall asleep in The Whisper and you'll have a 0.01% chance of ending up here.
- Exit through the front door when it stops snowing on Level -188 (very rarely) and have a 5% chance of getting here.
- Dive into a body of water on Level -199 and you'll have a 0.5% chance of getting sent here. However, this is the most dangerous method.
- Walking in the forest of Level 1328 long enough might lead you here, but it is very likely that you'll get lost.
- Finding an exit to the outside in Game Over will inevitably bring you here, however the exit constantly moves when out of sight,
- Create a statue in gold of Jesus Christ about 2.5 meters tall in Level 291 will teleport you here.
Exits
- Going through the barrier has a 99.9% chance of ending up in another level. There's a 0.1% chance of crossing the barrier and going back to The Frontrooms (Reality), but if you get a Guardian's permission to pass, it will be 100%. Getting permission from a Guardian is very difficult because you need to have almost no sins. It is not recommended to go through the Barrier because there is a medium chance of dying.
- Whisper to yourself to get into The Whisper.
- Listen very closely for "hype" music. Follow the music and eventually you'll end up in The Dark Forest. After a few more minutes of following the music, you'll find a doorway that leads to Level -150.
- Go towards a city to get into Level 11. (You won't be able to come back the way you came from.)
- Pick up a Hunting Rifle to get sent to Level -199.
- Hey, you found our hidden arcade game! Good for you! Why don't you start it up?
- Trying to dig yourself into the ground will take you to The Hub.
If you find this level to be "low effort" you may rewrite it, but do NOT change the concept.
