The Beginning is an enigmatic level that features a terminal that can be used to make minor edits to the backrooms.
Description
The Beginning features a laptop running lines of code on it. The laptop sits on a desk lit by a light bulb hanging in the air and the floor stretches out infinitely. With the laptop one can edit the code to change the backrooms, but cannot affect it in large quantities, such as deleting a room or entity.
Running too much code, and giving the computer information will lock the keyboard. An AI will then type “/clear”, which clears the console and unlocks the keyboard. Some have reported that trying to clear the code by themselves doesn't work.
That is all that has been reported, further study is being conducted by B.A.S.
Commands
Using the laptop one can enter various console commands to do various things, such as spawning entities, or teleporting to other levels. Here is a list of known commands:
- Typing "/spawn" can be used to spawn entities.
- Typing "/release" followed by any level number will knock you out and will teleport you to that level.
- Typing "/clear" supposedly clears the console, but some have reported that it only works when an AI types it.
- Trying to type “/exit” will destroy the T key after you type the I. If you try to run the command after the T is destroyed you will be transported to level 13.
- Trying to type “/help”, “/out”, “/freedom” or any other similar command will shut down the computer.
Entrances and Exits
Entrances
The entry point into The Beginning is kept a secret and anyone found talking loudly about it would be killed either by entities or T.T.G Mercenaries.
Exits
The exit point is fairly easy, either run a '/spawn' command to spawn the train from the Metro (beware not to accidentally spawn entities instead) or no clip at the invisible barrier which will take you to Level 0.
