The reported mental image by survivors
Description
The Dancer (first mentioned as "Балетистът" in a russian forum) is an urban legend in Level 6. Encounters with The Dancer are thought to occur within those with poorly managed sanity, especially if they've been careless with the noise they've been making. Surviving records describe him as an extremely hunched over silhouette, head tilted inhumanly back, walking in an eight-step waltz circle. There are no recorded survivors who've had a direct line of sight of The Dancer.
Behavior
It has been described that a distant music box can be heard reverberating when The Dancer approaches. Auditory disturbances only grow stronger, the closer he draws. The entity is extremely sensitive to light and uses sound as it's guide. It is advised by professional travellers to manage an individual's noise level while in Level 6, as to not disturb him. Direct encounters with The Dancer are most commonly the result of deliberate hunting or stalking.
In the case of travelling alone
Turn off any light, you cannot look at him. Stay as low as possible and keep track of his auditory presence. Control your breathing, sanity is of vital importance. Wait until The Dancer leaves, or shimmy away until the encounter ends. Do not try to outrun The Dancer.
In the case of travelling in a group
Instantly split up as to stretch out your sound profile. Turn off any light, you cannot look at him. Stay as low as possible and keep track of his auditory presence. Control your breathing, sanity is of vital importance. Wait until The Dancer leaves, or shimmy away in an independent direction until the encounter ends. The Dancer will commonly stalk split up groups, so don't regroup immediately. Do not try to outrun The Dancer.
Terror
Prolonged exposure to The Dancer's presence has proven to have an irreversable epileptic effect on the human sanity. Visual contact of any kind is reported to cause instantanious and sometimes long term damage to the visual cortex, most commonly in the form of imprints of human faces. Strong cardiac and auditory interference is reported when in close proximity to the entity. This can include panic attacks, difficulty breathing and hearing whispering/screaming/screeching noises.
