Description

The only known image of The Metro.

The Metro is a newly found level that you can access by getting on a train and continuing for the following station to arrive. The Metro is extremely peaceful and holds a headquarters owned by no one, and no one will occupy the metro, never.

The entrance to The Metro are unpredictable locations that should have a train station in reality, but as the backroom is a messed-up edition of reality itself, the entrance can be basically anywhere. The exits are spontaneous but the paths are stationary, making it mappable. The Metro can be mapped and goes in this order:

More info

The Metro itself is incredibly useful for wandering between the backrooms, it fulfills a valuable transportation technique for the people that are trapped, there could be a belief that asserts the following:

(Note: All Levels that require a specific Condition (except Level 913) are marked on the route map as limited service stops)

There is a story going around of an entity that is now nicknamed "The Conductor." It is theorized that the entity is the train driver, however, in reality, the conductor is not the train driver. Occasionally, after reaching The Metro, you may find a maintenance door. Entering them will lead you to a strange, dilapidated house from the Victorian era. Entering it will transport you into The Dark Metro, which is a decrepit and much more sinister version of The Metro.

There are 2 main types of Trains found on the metro, (Official model name unknown) A trains and B trains. Both types usually appear in a Red livery however they can occasionally be found in a blue livery. Metro trains are maintained and stored on Level 913. There are also other types of trains that can arrive at the train station but are of less interest and might be riskier to travel in.

A Trains

Trains are older and appear as they were made in the 1970s and are found in consists of 1-6 cars. There may or may not be a name/number plate on the side of its car seats. They are more likely to take you to relatively safe levels.

B Trains

B Trains look newer and are more modern, comprising of 2 to 6 car sets. They look as if they were made in the early 2000s. The screen on the side of B trains usually doesn't display its next destination nor show its designation number. They will arrive at the next stop faster but may take you to riskier levels, although this isn't confirmed.

139 Trains

139 Trains are trains in level 139, however, they can be seen here with a 45% Chance.

Steam Trains

Steam trains are black steam trains with silver lining and similar-styled passenger cars that replace the A and B trains at seemingly random intervals, Unconfirmed reports suggest that a steam train will replace the next "normal" train 12 minutes after a train is vandalized, and will not appear for another 12 days. These trains were observed to have luxurious interiors and will take you to The Hub. When a Steam train is at the station, it is the time you will most likely encounter The Conductor.

Entities

(note, the entity mentioned here is not to be confirmed to reside in the Metro yet.)

The Conductor

  • An entity that is just recently discovered, it is unique as it is the only entity type of its own and is very sentient and intelligent, most frequently appearing in The Metro.
  • "The Conductor" Appears as a male humanoid child approximately age about 10~12 years old. It wears a navy-blue conductor uniform and carries a silver ceremonial sword at all times.
  • It is highly Intelligent and will often speak with people aboard the Train, it can also answer questions, however asking certain questions like "Who made the backrooms?" or "What are the backrooms" will not be answered or actively avoided, presumably to not reveal any of the inner workings of the Backrooms. Asking to leave the backrooms is replied with a phrase that is or similar to "Sorry, but that's just not possible."
  • It is not advised to physically engage combat with "The Conductor" as it has unnatural strength and agility, as well as a silver blade that can slice through people like butter. Other than that, "The Conductor" does not have any willing hostile intentions.
  • It is theorized that the conductor can control both the Metro Train and the Metro cameras, however, this has not yet been confirmed.
  • The first recorded observation of "The Conductor" was caused by a group of people with hostile intentions vandalising a steam locomotive that arrived at a station, which the entity responded by wiping out the entire group with its ceremonial sword. Wanderers passing by described that "Everything left is just streaks of blood splattered on the floors and pillars".
