General Knowledge Guide
The Premorbid is a dimension of the Backrooms that is accessed by any Wanderer that is minutes from dying. Their body ceases to a state of paralysis, while the Wanderer in question is present in The Premorbid in their mind. They cannot move with their body; rather they must move with their mind to navigate through this mysterious realm. A certain sensation of déjà vu caresses the mind of the Wanderer as they admire the landscapes of The Premorbid.
The entities found in this dimension resemble people from the Wanderer's past. The people that the Wanderer loved are in full form, while people that they hated or forgot are grotesque in appearance. Do not be fooled: they are all specters. If one tries to make bodily contact with any one of the specters, they will disappear.
The levels are like a "slideshow" of one's life, or like "your life flashing before your eyes." All locations are somewhat reminiscent of one's life experiences, resurfacing the "déjà vu" sensation.
All of this happens while one is paralyzed. Once one exits The Premorbid, they die.
