The Whisper is a secret location within the Backrooms with potential to cause suicidal ideation.

Description
The Whisper is an empty landscape with large, dead forests extending for an unknown length. Deep blue mist constantly surrounds Wanderers, giving the grass and woods of the area a cold and bitter wind, sending chills down spines. Deep within the forests of The Whisper, abandoned deep-blue homes have been found, with the wood walls peeling apart.
Because of the nature of The Whisper, settlement is nearly impossible. The forest is mostly empty, and very few roam it still. Those who refuse to leave this place ultimately leave their soul and their life behind. No tangible threats to human life have been spotted. Despite this, corpses of humans litter the ground — even entities can be seen dead and decomposing in mass numbers.
The beauty of this forest implants a false sense of safety and security, but the effects will consume the Wanderer as they continue. This forest causes extreme amounts of tiredness, apathy, and an overall lack of compassion for themselves or others. It may, after extended amounts of time, result in depression and burnout. Auditory hallucinations will likely occur, begging Wanderers to stay just a little longer.
After about a day inside The Whisper, Wanderers will stop trying to find an exit, persuaded by the voices to stay.
The effects of this place do not inherently cause death; however, long-lasting survivors will intentionally take life-threatening risks in deliberate attempts to commit suicide.
The inhabitants of the forest, if any still exist, are sleep-deprived, bitter and hostile. They have refused all aid and have willingly given up on life. Many of them nail suicide notes to trees without thought. Attempting to interrupt a corrupted Wanderer nailing a note to the tree will result in your quick death by strangulation. Upon finishing their duties, the Wanderers collapse on the ground, never to rise again.
The following is a note from a now-deceased Wanderer on Day 3 of experiencing The Whisper:
I don’t know where I'm going anymore. Things are freezing now. I can't feel my face, my own thoughts anymore… Someone else is in my head. Found a house here a while ago. It's massive. I can't believe I never discovered it before. The view is beautiful. I wish I could take a photo of it.
I miss my daughter. And my wife. I don't remember where they are anymore, but I know they aren’t in this place. I can still remember them. Not their names, or what they looked like per se, just vague memories of a place before here. I have even forgotten my own name.
But none of that matters to me anymore.
I might let the beast take me. It hasn't attacked yet but I know it wants to. It keeps following me. It's hungry for my flesh… ready to pounce when I finally lie motionless. I don't have anything else but this place, and I'm tired of it. I want to be out but I'm sure only worse things are to come. The voices in my head only exacerbate my situation.
I'm leaving this note in case anyone knew who I was. Don’t tell my daughter what happened.
If she ever asks about her dad, say, "He's off to a better place now."
She'll understand. There's nothing more left for me on this earth.
Entrances and Exits
Entrances
The entrance of the level can be found in an area of Level -5. You must stay within the deep forests of Level -5 long enough to lose unconsciousness. There is then a great chance of you waking up in the level. If this does not work, travel deeper.
Exits
It is unknown where the exit to The Whisper is, let alone whether one even exists. If you have stayed in this forest for longer than a few hours, it is likely your only exit will be death.
