Hi there. If you're reading this book then that means you have a chance of getting out of here. Who I am doesn't matter. What does matter however is getting you out of here as quickly and safely as possible because I'm sure you're scared and confused, as most are. This book is full of everything you need to do in order to escape. Don't worry if some things don't fully make sense yet. Everything will be explained in time. Certain things in this list are not in order, except for the first few things. If you're still confused on what certain things mean, there's a glossary in the back with definitions.

Good luck. I believe in you.

Stay calm

This is one of if not the most important thing on this list, and you're going to need to do this a lot. This world you're in will contain things that will scare you, hurt you and push you to the brink of insanity. That is why you need to stay calm as much as possible. Below is a grounding exercise you can do if you ever feel anxious or restless.

  1. Sit down or stand still. Take some deep breaths.
  2. Name 5 things you can see.
  3. Name 4 things you can physically touch.
  4. Name 3 things you can hear.
  5. Name 2 things you can smell.
  6. Name 1 thing you can taste.

There are other ways and methods of grounding yourself that I will talk about later.

Get to the Manila Room

The first place you should try to get to is the Manila Room. You'll easily spot it due to it's different wallpaper and inclusion of furniture. You know you're heading in the right direction if you start hearing people talking, but don't be fooled. Sometimes you'll hear things that aren't there. Try to decipher what the voices are saying. I won't say exactly what to hear out for in case it affects your hallucinations. Actually getting to the room is purely chance. Walking in any given direction for long enough will most likely get you there. Try to be persistent, though. You will make it eventually.

Once you find the Manila Room you will find people that will help you and give you more information about where you are and how to get out. These people are known as the Major Explorers Group, or M.E.G. In the room you'll find books and documents filled with information. I high suggest you read these and talk to the people there. They are only here to help you. While you there, you may possibly find an updated and/or revised version of this very book. I definitely suggest taking that book with you instead and leaving this one behind.
