Backrooms Wiki

This is a redraft of Level 999.999 so that I can make the page have more of the essence of the Backrooms, that being psychological horror.
Notes for self:
> This level is at the core about the market hidden within the city.
> The level must have psychological horror around the hidden market.
(Ex. citizens feeling something isn’t right, people randomly disappearing, etc.)
> Do not continue writing a section if it is stressful to write.

Level 999.999 is a sub-level of Level 999. It is to not be confused with Level 999999.

Level 999.999 is an upside-down city named Albati City. The city is populated by various intelligent beings including ones from The Backrooms itself. Each being has their own sector of the city with a united section existing as well.

Downtown

The Downtown of Albati City is the second most populated sector, being populated by humans. Our architecture is adapted to be upside-down: there are walkways used to traverse this sector, connected to every building. The center of Downtown are like downtowns in The Frontrooms, with tall skyscrapers.

Level 999.999 is upside-down relative to The Frontrooms. When someone enters the level, the ground is above them, slowly crumbling away. Gravity as a force still goes downwards, meaning one can fall out through the sky if not careful. It is thought that rain and snow can not hit the ground due to the gravity, causing the ground to be barren. The barrenness itself is theorized to cause the ground to crumble away.

A few days ago, I was on Level 999 about to hit the [elevator] button to go to Level 1000 when I saw a weird other button not mentioned anywhere at the time. Today, I went there. When the elevator doors opened, all I saw was ground above the elevator crumbling and falling into a sky. The new area was upside down? I do think the ground could be crumbling from having no plants or gravity to support it, but I need some scientists to come and make sure. I can’t do much myself.

The barrenness itself is one of the causes of the ground crumbling away, the other cause is the gravity itself. An anomalous effect has been found that the soil never truly depletes and the crumbled soil is immediately replaced.

I got the scientists to go to the level to discover more information. My theory about the plants and gravity is correct. It also turns out that there is an effect causing the soil to never truly deplete. Anywho, time to discuss my plans. I want to make this level into a city where only good people can live in. The bad people? They’re simply not allowed here!
