The Primaverse is a canon that uses realism to attempt an explanation of how the Backrooms could exist. This canon also attempts to explain how the Backrooms and possibly everywhere else was, could, and/or will be created. Basically, this is a canon trying to bind all of the ____rooms and universes together.
What truly are the Backrooms?
Most of us know the original excerpt about the Backrooms.
“If you're not careful and noclip out of reality in the wrong areas, you'll end up in the Backrooms, where it's nothing but the stink of old moist carpet, the madness of mono-yellow, the endless background noise of fluorescent lights at maximum hum-buzz, and approximately six hundred million square miles of randomly segmented empty rooms to be trapped in
God save you if you hear something wandering around nearby, because it sure as hell has heard you”
The original excerpt is not the full answer to the question. We want to know what the Backrooms truly are. To answer this question, we must first analyze the transportation method to the Backrooms.
Noclipping
The way one travels between our universe and The Backrooms is via ‘noclipping.’ The definition of noclipping is “the action of travelling quickly enough to pass through a wall or any solid object.”[1]
Notice how the original 4-Chan excerpt states “If you noclip out of reality in the wrong areas.” What do they even mean by “out of reality”? What even is “reality”? Is “reality” Earth or the whole universe?
The definition of reality is “the quality or state of being real.”[2] This means that reality encompasses everything that we know to be real. We can conclude that “reality” is only referring to the universe that we know. This leaves two options.
- The Backrooms are in the un-observable universe or are in a different universe.
- Everything we know about reality is wrong and the Backrooms can somehow fit in between the walls.
The first option is much more likely than the second.
