Level 54 is the 55th level of the Backrooms. As its name suggests, it is composed of a finite spiral staircase that extends for approximately 12 kilometers.

Description

The blessed staircase on this level is very similar to that of an urban building in the Frontrooms. The structure leads to two floors totally different from each other.

An image of the staircase on Level 54. It is presumed that the photographer fell from the stairs ending up in Level 0.

Climbing 4 kilometers up the staircase, you will come to two forks. If you follow the one on the left, it will lead you to a dark oak door. If you go through it, you will end up on Floor 1, but instead, if you take the right course, after another 4 kilometers of climbing it will lead you to two other forks. This time it will be the other way around; taking the right fork will take you to the bottom of the staircase and, if you take the left, you'll come across another dark oak door with a sign on the side that says, "Get ready, things will get a little weird." The appearance of the staircase has a spiral style, it will go round and round as you progress. The planks are grayish iron in good condition, there are two handrails to keep your balance. The railings are well fastened and measure one meter fifteen, for a person of average height it will be easy to keep your balance. There will be no entities appearing on the stairs. However, they may appear on both floors. (These entities will be mentioned later). As much as 12 kilometers of stairs may sound torturous, on this level you will have a much higher stamina than a human with a good physique. The path will be very easy. It is advisable to drink a few gulps of Almond Water to stay alert and not fall on the sides of the stairs. If by some strange chance you happen to fall on the sides, there will be three chances:

At the bottom of the stairs there will be a tar-black door. If you enter it, you will appear in The Hub.

Floors

Floor 1

An image of Floor 1.

Floor 1 largely resembles Level 4, thus being an abandoned office. This floor is presumed to be infinite. This floor has dilapidated fluorescent lights, however, unlike Level 0, they do not emit a deafening buzzing sound. On this floor you can find random objects scattered everywhere: Bottles of Almond Water, small vials of Liquid Silence, etc. Temperatures are warm, around 25°C.

This floor is inhabited by Smilers in dark areas, Dullers, Windows, Death Rats and Skin-Stealers.

Floor 2

An image of Floor 2. It is presumed that the photographer was swallowed by a Clump.

This floor is finite, but very extensive, one hundred thousand square miles in size. Floor 2 takes on the appearance of a long corridor with white walls and dark green stripes. The light here can be disturbing due to the intensity.

The doors here lead to Negative Levels. It is normal to encounter random objects after walking long enough in this place.

The entities on this floor are Child Facelings, Clumps, Windows and Insanities.

Entrances and Exits

Entrances

To enter, you must enter a specific gray building on Level 11 or find and enter the staircase entrance on Level 42, or one of the corridors on Level 17. You can also noclip the staircase on Level γ to end up here. This works on any sublevel, but will be more likely to work the deeper the sublevel you are in.

Exits

To exit, go through the doors on Floor 2 to end up in Negative Levels or reach the bottom of the stairs, and then appear in The Hub.
