Out of resources

Welcome to the first story found by M.E.G back in 1960.

I have been living in this weird looking place for two weeks now. I can't find an escape anywhere. A kind person gave me some food and drinks, but I'm almost through all of them. For anyone who ever gets to read this "Always take food with you into here". I don't know how I got in here. First I was with my friends exploring "haunted" houses, and now I'm stuck in this weird smelly office space. I hope I reach people soon. I haven't seen human life in years it feels like. I'm exhausted and I don't think I have any longer. Goodbye world.

The first base

Welcome to the first base contruction story found by M.E.G back in 1974.

I landed in this weird place more then two years ago. I already explored a lot of places and I'm starting to accept that this is my normal life now. I decided to gather some friends in level 0 to make an outpost. The plan is to use the outpost as a relaxing place and a place to teach new people the concept of walking through objects and how to defeat the countless entities roaming around other levels searching for pray. This will be a sort of daily diary where I share the progress of the base. I wished I could share my stories with the world. Anyways I'm going to join my friends for gathering resources.

Day 1

We luckily found some resources pretty fast to start building with. One of my friends brought a whole toolset with him so we can break out parts of this carpeted room to use it for our outpost.

Day 2

We finished the first part of the outpost "the entrance". We also found a wanderer called Dave. He joined our group and he's helping us making the outpost more habitable. He was carrying around pens that he made. He used to be a utility maker. He likes making pens so when he was bored he made pens using the resources found here. The ink is made out of blood. We try to ignore it but its very hard to act like its normal ink.

Day 3

Dave went away from the outpost to map out a small area. Thanks to him we now know how to get back to the outpost. Dave also found some other resources like food and water. The water smells like strawberry's. We don't think its actual water, but we are thirsty and needed something to drink.

Day 4

This is the last day of working on the outpost. We decided to block of the hallways and call it an outpost to speed up the process. Every block has a one-way door so we can still leave the outpost using these hallways. I'm happy with how it turned out. We made beds using the carpet so we don't need to sleep on the floor anymore. It was hard to find not moldy carpet in some places, but its better then lying on the ground and in mold.

Day 5

The first person visited the outpost. He had some resources to expand the outpost. He now lives with us inside the outpost. We learned him how to walk through objects and when he did it whilst running into a wall he vanished. He later came back with the head of some sort of alien creature and a backpack full of resources. He gatters resources for us. In return he gets to stay in the outpost.

I'm happy with how the base turned out. I did not expect it to go this well. I'm happy with the small community we build.

Scientific tests

The Mold

Welcome to the scientific tests done with the mold on level 0.

Down below will be a list of tests done with the mold. There are categories so everything is organized.

Eating and drinking the mold.

  • Eating the mold will make you feel sick. M.E.G thinks the mold on level 0 is normal mold like in the Frontrooms.
  • Drinking the mold will make you feel sick as well. After this test M.E.G has concluded that the mold on level 0 is just normal mold.

Throwing the mold at entities.

  • Throwing mold from level 0 at entities is useless, since it doesn't affect them. Highly recommended to not throw mold at certain entities since they can mutate.
  • Throwing liquid mold at entities will not do anything.
  • A fun thing that you can do with normal mold is find a body and put mold in it. When a partygoer will make the body into cake, the mold will stay. M.E.G has recorded a partygoer being killed by eating mold. Some partygoers will just become really sick. One of these body's can kill an estemated amount of 20 partygoers.

Lost in the concrete maze

Welcome to the first story found by a wanderer in 1992.

Well, I'm happy that I'm out of that moldy carpet building. But now I'm here. I didn't escape, I'm in a parking building? How where these things called again? Well, atleast I'm no longer stuck with that moldy carpet. I think I'm hallucinating weird monster like creatures. That thing just looks at me with a big smile on his face. No body just a smile. I panicked and ran away. I have been walking for what it feels like years and still haven't found an exit. All the doors lead to hallways with even more doors. None lead to a way out of this hell. I don't know who kidnapped me and put me in here. I haven't seen human life in so long. I miss my old life. Bring me back!

From how the story ends, its theorized by M.E.G that the writer committed suicide or got killed by an entity.

Scientific tests

The puddles

Welcome to the scientific tests done with "The puddles" on level 1.

Drinking "The puddles"

  • Drinking one of the puddles directly of the floor will taste like normal water. There can be small rocks and deadly bacteria in this water, so its recommended to not drink it.
  • According to M.E.G scientists the water puddles are like the water puddles from the frontrooms. They recommend you act like its that and you don't drink it, since you wouldn't do that in the frontrooms.

Using "The puddles" against enemies

  • Throwing it at enemies won't do anything
  • Injecting an enemy with the water from the puddles won't do anything
  • Making an enemy drink it won't do anything
  • Putting the water in a Nerf super soaker is funny, but won't do anything

Conclusion:

  • The water is like normal water from the frontrooms
  • It can't do anything special
  • It's recommended to not drink it straight from the floor
  • Act like its normal water.

Level 62438

Welcome to level 62438.

Please select the story you would like to read. At the bottom of the page there will be tests done by M.E.G and random wanderers.

Having "Vacation"

Welcome to the first story send by email in 2005.

I was on vacation whilst browsing through backrooms levels. Whilst walking through a hallway I accidently no-clipped into level 0. I still had my phone on me. I used my phone to find information about the backrooms levels and how to escape. I used the breaking a vase in level 5, holding atleast 2 of the shards and running into a wall entrance. I'm happy it worked. Now I'm here. There is functional water, Wi-Fi, and electricity. I looked up tutorials on how to make a phone charger. I succesfully made one and I'm currently using it to charge my phone. I don't have any paper or way to write on paper. I use my phone's keyboard until I find a writing utility in one of the houses. I always have weapons on me just in case an entity tries to attack me. I'm happy in this place. No toxic people, no worries just peacefull vacation houses for miles with swimming pools filled with drinkable water that tastes really good. I don't want to leave. I found a gaming setup in one of the houses. I don't know what a gaming setup is doing inside a vacation house, but I'm not complaining. I hope I can help M.E.G with documenting this level.

This text was recieved via an email send to the M.E.G team.

There are currently no tests done on this level. The person that wrote the Having "Vacation" story will start testing soon.

Level 987: Going Nowhere fast

Level 987 is the 988ᵗʰ level of the backrooms.

C0Icon.png

Survival Difficulty: Class 0
》Safe
》Secure
》Devoid of Harmful Entities

Description

Level 987 is a presumably infinite train consisting of two different types of carriage that is consistently moving at speeds of around 150 km/h. The landscape outside the train is always changing, with it passing through deserts, tundras, temperate forests and rolling hills with scattered villages, the only constant being it is invariably night. The first type of carriage is the passenger carriage which has a central aisle with seat, tables and large windows on each side. The second type of carriage is the sleeper carriage which consists of a narrow corridor one one side bordered by bedrooms containing sinks, bunk beds and cupboards. The windows of some carriages can be opened slightly at the top and the glass can be broken but due to the train's speed, nobody has attempted to leave it. On occasion, a male voice will be heard from unseen speakers located throughout the train, it will announce that "The cafe bar is at the rear of the train and we are due to arrive Nowhere soon". The only supplies found on this level have been almond water, food on tables and Transportacorns behind glass labeled "break in case of emergency". The only entities found on this level have been designated as Ticket Inspectors and are non hostile, wearing dark blue uniforms and hats.

Ticket inspectors

Ticket Inspectors are Facelings with official looking uniforms, hats and scratched out name badges. Their behavior consists of walking up and down the train and when encountering wanderers they will ask to see the wanderer's ticket. They demonstrate no sapience, very little sentience and cannot or will not respond to any attempts at communication. Upon handing the Ticket Inspector any sort of object when asked for a ticket, they will move on, placing the object on a nearby surface. All attempts to provoke them have been met with failure.

Level 445 is the 446th level of the Backrooms.

C3Icon.png

Survival Difficulty: Class 3
》Unsafe
》Unsecure
》Moderate Entity Count

Unsafe

Unsecure

Low Entity Count

Description

Level 445 is a series of elevators estimated to be 500,000 in total that have no discernable height nor depth limit, pressing a button will result in the elevator ascending or descending for ten to thirty minutes before the doors open to reveal an identical elevator. Pressing the open and close doors button at the same time will open up the elevator door on the other side. This one can lead into other levels, other elevators, small concrete rooms containing resources or a brick wall. This brick wall will sometimes have an iron door in the center, leading to a large library-like room containing shelves of books, notes and stories.

It is believed that these are all stories written by wanderers and backrooms residents. Although the hard to access nature of the level and by extent, the library implies that they are appearing here through anomalous means rather than being actively placed here. The M.E.G is currently working on making all of these stories public. You can read them in the Backrooms Library. Entering the elevator shaft through a roof panel will set off an alarm and make the elevator rapidly ascend and bring you to a room resembling the lobby of a hotel. This room has red carpet, a central chandelier, and a set of double doors exiting to Level 5.

Colonies and Outposts

No outposts exist due to the cramped and changeable nature of the level but there is rumoured that a cult exists of this level called The Ascendants. However no hard evidence has been found to prove this.

Entities

Entities can be occasionally encountered in elevators, leading to close quarters combat in a confined space which is usually fatal. Entities so far encountered include: Hounds, Skin stealers, Lighters, Toxin spitters and Puffballs

Entrances and Exits

Entrances

  • A level 445 elevator can rarely appear on most levels
  • No-clipping through a bookshelf in level 5 will put you inside the library part of the level

Exits

  • Leaving through the double doors in the hotel lobby takes you to Level 5
  • Pressing the open and close door buttons opens the other set of elevator doors which can lead to other levels
  • Falling down an elevator shaft will lead to you falling into The Snowrooms
