Entity Number: 212

Habitat: level 18

Threat Level: Class 1

(As a side note these things are very cute)

Entity 212, nicknamed "WOOOM", are passive / semi hazardous entities that resemble a round, rainbow axolotl plushies in a fresh condition, ranging anywhere from 2ft to 1.5m in diameter. These entities are considered to be extremely rare, with only 10 confirmed sightings across Level 18 in the past 12 years. It is theorized, however, that WOOOMs could inhabit levels that have not yet been completely explored.

Description

WOOOMs are universally regarded as incredibly cute by those who encounter them. These round, colorful entities will resemble rainbow colored axolotl plushies which are capable of moving themselves physically, though will only use this manner of movement when covering short distances as traveling in this way is very slow due to the limits of their soft physiology. Despite their limited mobility, they are able to move their limbs. Based on their lack of reaction to sound it is believed WOOOMS lack the ability to hear, and none have not been reported to have the need to eat, drink, or sleep.

The WOOOM's primary form of travel is a form of propulsive shockwave that its able to generate by compressing its body in a manner similar to a person squeezing an accordion. This action compresses mass around the WOOOM in a 1-meter radius, forcing the air around the entity to be packed tightly together before lifting the WOOOM into the air and launching it at high speeds with the release of a shockwave of about 3 meters in diameter that produces the sound which the entity is named after.

This shockwave will then propel the WOOOM forward a distance ranging between 20ft and 200 meters away, depending on the size and space of the Level the entity finds itself in. Although the shockwave is not usually lethal, it can cause symptoms of headache and sore muscles that lasts for 5 to 10 minutes if you’re too close to the shockwave buildup.

WOOOMs seem to refrain from producing shockwaves when they are near humans. It's theorized that WOOOMs use this passive behavior to attract humans into carrying them as a method of transportation due to the energy required for the entity to build up its shockwaves, but that has yet to be confirmed. As of now, no one truly knows what the purpose of these entities is, or what they want from humans, or what their goals are in the Backrooms. To date, there have been no reports of intentional malicious actions performed by these entities.

Discovery

The first WOOOM to ever be discovered was In Level 18 in 2010 when It was first photographed by An unknown Wanderer.

Do's and Don'ts:

Do:

  • Make your presence known to a WOOOM through visual contact.
  • Stay 3 meters away from WOOOMs when they are charging up their shockwave (you should have enough time to notice this).
  • If you're lucky enough to encounter a WOOOM during a hostile entity situation, it is possible to throw the WOOOM at the hostile entity. Doing so will trigger the WOOOMs shockwave reaction, which can stun hostile entities allowing you to get away. DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK!

Don't:

  • Startle or surprise WOOOMs
  • Threaten or Attack WO0OMs
  • Stand right next to WOOOMs while they are building up their shockwave.
